Uniflow PowerUniflow Power Ltd is an unlisted public company, dedicated to commercialising new technology in renewable energy, and in energy and resource efficiency.

The HALO Seal dramatically reduces the use and disposal of stainless steel over the life of a pipe system, while also providing high integrity sealing, reducing leaks and fugitive emissions. Initial sales in Australia and other territories will commence in the first quarter of 2011. Uniflow estimates the global market for static seals to conservatively be worth around $1 billion per annum

The Uniflow Generator is a small scale, biomass fuelled, combined heat and power, 5kW modern steam generator. In the last three years two advanced prototypes of the Uniflow Generator have been built for testing and development work. Hundreds of enquiries have already been received from all over the world for this simple but revolutionary approach to creating electricity using woody fuels and waste, such as coconut husk or sawdust.

Perimeter Security Industries

The SecureMat® perimeter system is a new and innovative approach to protecting industrial sites, municipal areas and commercial buildings.

On ground sensor mats detect any intruders within a monitored area.

The mats contain fibre-optic cable and any disturbances are electronically processed.

Genuine alarms are flagged and an alert SMS is sent to nominated mobile phones.

False alarms are minimal due to detection algorithms that distinguish footsteps from wind and falling debris.

Demonstration projects are underway with: Southern Cross Protection Group1 Security Paramax Security Integration.

Global perimeter security market size is large ($4 billion in 2010) Patent, Trademark and website secured

Implementation

• Use project management tools, my favourite being the Work Breakdown Structure. Climate and resource sufficiency within each WBS task.

• Getting the business model right is the first non technical challenge. There is no sustainable solution if the business does not work.

• A good funding plan, and a degree of luck are also vital.
