ICT/DM Sub-Sectors Why Do a Sub-Sector ICT/DM Analysis?
• ICT/DM is the largest sector in terms of the number of students in the California Community College system
• Information Communication Technology Digital Media (as the name suggests) is not an industry sector but clusters of skills that cross many industry sectors
• ICT/DM is especially problematic in terms of TOP codes • Many courses coded to TOP codes outside of sector for BIW and
Entertainment• Similar courses coded to different TOP codes• When was a new TOP code created?

Note: Some SOC Codes are mapped to more than one sub-sector since SOC codes represent multiple job titles and occupations. Since the number of annual openings is the best way to gauge labor market demand, SOC codes (rather than a skills search in online postings) are used for estimating demand in a sub-sector.
