ICE CREAM IN A BAG (OR A CAN) What you’ll need: ½ cup milk or half and half 1 gallon-sized plastic zip-closed bag 2 tablespoons sugar 1 quart-sized plastic zip-closed bag ½ teaspoon vanilla ½ cup rock salt (or other salt) Enough ice to half-fill the gallon-sized bag In the smaller bag, pour the milk, sugar, and vanilla. Close the bag tightly, and put it inside the larger bag. Half-fill the larger bag with ice, then pour the salt in on top. Shake the bag for 5 minutes, or until the ice cream is thick. Enjoy! (You can also make ice cream the same way using two coffee cans, as long as one is large enough to hold the other and still shut tightly.
