Are Verisk Health software products impacted by the ICD10 mandate? Yes, and we are preparing for this. Verisk Health solutions organize ICD diagnosis codes into clinical categories which are then used for predictive modeling and clinical analyses. In the domestic market today all clients use the ICD 9 versions of the Verisk Health tools. In 2004, Verisk Health introduced an ICD 10 version of the DxCG predictive models for clients in Europe (ICD 10 GM in Germany and ICD 10 WHO for clients around the world). This work is the foundation for rolling the ICD 10 code set integration into all of the Verisk Health products. What version of the software will be fully compliant with the ICD10 mandate? Product Management anticipates launching a planning process for ICD 10 product rollout in early 2010. With strong experience in ICD 10 models, the product development process of modifying the classification system, designing and calibrating models, creating the software and documentation will follow our traditional discipline of product release. Since we already have an existing foundation in our global edition of the DxCG predictive models, this mapping effort is not considered to be intensive. Verisk plans to maintain both ICD 9 and ICD 10 product versions during the transition period, enabling clients to run both types of codes. When will it be available to Client Systems? We anticipate making the ICD 10 version of the software available to clients well in advance of the mandate. We are targeting this for the end of 2011. Will these software changes be covered by existing maintenance/release fees? Yes, the software is value priced, independent of the ICD code mapping and maintenance which is done routinely in version upgrades that occur over time. Are the software products impacted by the 5010 mandate? The 5010 mandate is an update to the HIPAA 4010 code sets that deal with the transfer of information related to such things as eligibility, claims, benefits, etc. As a result, the data transition from the data source into the Verisk Health tools will be impacted by this mandate to the extent that the data source changes. As with any change to the client data source, the client-specific impact will be evaluated and addressed. It is not expected that the 5010 mandate will affect the availability of critical data to the Verisk Health products.
