General Information

Why ICAO could offer their Reproduction, Sales and Distribution services to other UN and International Agencies ?

1. Due to a new policy on publication production, this has created an unused capacity that ICAO could now offer to other UN and International Agencies

2. A Printing Pool of UN and International Agencies has been created in Montreal.

3. ICAO Reproduction, Sales and Distribution Services are flexible to accommodate single unit jobs, partnership agreements or memorandum of understanding and service level agreements.

International Civil Aviation Organization /Printing and Distribution services ICAO was created in 1944 to promote the safe and orderly development of

international civil aviation throughout the world ICAO serves the forum for cooperation in all fields of civil aviation among its 190

Contracting States ICAO Reproduction, External Distribution and Document Sales services have more

than 60 years of experience. ICAO produces approximately 60 new publications every year and most of them are

translated and printed in the 6 official languages of the United Nations Organization. (English, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic and Chinese)

Up to 2004, the operational production results of the ICAO Reproduction Section was measured at between 80 and 100 million pages impressions per year.

Since 2005, with the introduction of a new ICAO policy on publication production as well as implementing print on demand services, ICAO succeeded to reduce their total number of printed pages by 35%.

The result of this new policy created excess production capacity that ICAO could now offer to other UN and International Agencies.

ICAO is in position to provide to your Organization with Reproduction services since we are equipped with numeric black and white and color copiers, offset sheet-fed and webb printing presses. We also have an in-house Document Sales Unit and Distribution and Shipping Services Unit.

In fact ICAO is already providing these services to other UN Agencies based in Montreal.

ICAO has always had an in-house printing facility to produce their documentation and publications.

Since ICAO implemented a new policy concerning print run reduction, reprint and/or print on demand requests to fill unexpected or last minute order from our clients. occurs more frequently.

Example: Doc 7910 - Location Indicators, which is one of the best sellers in ICAO, the Printing Section was normally printing 6,000 copies of this document, however, due to the revised production policy, only 3,900 copies were printed the last time that this job was submitted. Other requirements are now filled by Print on Demand services.

ICAO produces on a regular basis, reprint and/or print on demand requests for the Secretariat on Biological Diversity, UNESCO Institute of Statistics, International Air Traffic Association, International Business Aviation Council, Copas-Sarsat, Commission of Cooperation on Environment and many other Agencies.
