Microsoft Windows: Development platform requirements
A minimum of 1 GB of memory, 1.5 GB recommended
At minimum, an Intel(R) Pentium(R) III class processor (or equivalent) with a minimum clock speed of 800 MHz. A Pentium® IV class processor (or equivalent) with a minimum clock speed of 1.7 GHz recommended
The following network support must be configured when deploying solutions to network-attached target computers:
– TCP/IP
– DNS
A LAN connection
An SVGA monitor with a minimum 1024 x 768 video resolution configured to display a minimum color depth of 256 colors
Internet Explorer 6.0 SP 1+, Mozilla 1.7 or Firefox 1.x web browser to view the online documentation and readme
Approximately 19 GB of disk space to install and run Express Runtime. Refer to the readme for complete disk space requirements
Administrative authority (required for product installation and uninstallation)
Eclipse workbench versions supported:
– Application Server Toolkit 6.1.1 (AST included in Express Runtime install)
– Rational Application Developer 7.0.1 or higher

Starting the installation from media
Windows only: If autorun is enabled, the setup files are unpacked automatically and the Launchpad window starts automatically from the installation media (DVD/CD)
If autorun isn’t enabled, and for other supported platforms, run the following command from the first disk:
– Windows: launchpad.exe
– Linux (Intel): launchpad.sh
– Linux on POWER: launchpad.sh

Selecting the language for installation Use the dropdown located in upper right corner ->
Language selection if you want to install in a language other than English

support with your solutions

Selecting an Eclipse-based product If you have an Eclipse-based product that meets the
requirements, you may opt to plug in the Express Runtime Developer or install IBM Application Server Toolkit
Make a selection and click Next to continue

Specify migration of previous Express Runtime version If you have a previous version of Express Runtime
installed, you may opt to migrate your existing workspace files and deployment packages

Installation Summary Review the installation summary and click Next
You will then see the installation progress bar
Note: depending on the options selected, the install program may ask for additional DVDs or CDs

You should see this message about the successful installation
