Collecting a TRCCNN for All TCP/IPTraffic

    Technote

The Trace Connection (TRCCNN) command traces IP traffic at the TCP/IPlevel as opposed to a Communications Trace, which takes place at the IOP

    level.

TRCCNN uses the Trace Internal (TRCINT) command to collect the tracerecords and to generate an intermediate spooled file named QPCSMPRT. The

QPCSMPRT spooled file data is used to generate a spooled file named

QSYSPRT. The user data for the QSYSPRT file is TRCCNN.

The instructions to run this trace follow:

1 On the operating system command line, type the following:

    TRCCNN SET(*ON) TRCTYPE(*IP) TRCTBL(TCP) SIZE(500 *MB)

    Press the Enter key.

    2 Re-create the problem.

3 Note:You may want to submit the following command to batch, using the

    SBMJOBcommand.

    TRCCNN SET(*OFF) TRCTBL(TCP)

This command will dump two spooled files, QPCSMPRT and QSYSPRT, for

the job running the command. Usually, the spooled file that is needed by

Support is the one named QSYSPRT.

Note: When using TRCCNN within an FTP session, QUOTE RCMD TRCCNN

SET(*OFF) TRCTBL(TABLENAME)does not work because no spooledfiles are generated. The work-around is to use the following:

    QUOTE RCMD SBMJOB CMD(TRCCNN SET(*OFF)

    TRCTBL(TABLENAME))

Run the WRKUSRJOBcommand to look at the jobs associate with the FTP

user. The TRCCNNspooled file will be associated with the jobnnnnnn/FTPuser/QDFTJOBD.
