Gifted to Care
Spiritual gifts are gifts to give away. God gives
them to us, and we use them to serve others.
How are you using your gifts right now? Are
you looking for a new way to use them? If
your spiritual gifts include one or more of the
following— faith, mercy, teaching the faith,
encouragement, or knowing—consider Stephen Ministry, our
congregation’s one-to-one caregiving ministry. This may be just what
you’ve been looking for!
Contact Rev. Yum 835.6797 ext. 145, Jo Winchester, 631.0122, or Terry

CROP HUNGER WALK Sunday, October 1 | Midland Center for the Arts
Youth and adult church members are encouraged to
participate in this year’s Crop Walk. Midland’s goal this
year is to raise $45,000, and we want FUMC to be a big
part of that total. The money is used to fund local,
national, and international hunger programs, and the
three mile walk represents the average distance women in developing
countries walk for water.
For more information, contact John Engler, [email protected],
835.6797 ext. 112, or Deb Jasin, 832.3034.

Dealing with the death of a loved one can be among life’s most
difficult and stressful experiences. While everyone grieves differently, all
experience a range of emotions that are important in healing.
Research shows that those who give time and honest expression to
their grief in community with others who care, listen, and understand,
often are able to move through the grief in ways that bring greater
healing and wholeness.
