Background of Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh

Government of India statistics reveal that only 3 out of 10 girls who enter class 1 complete class 10, out of which only 50% are able to pursue their graduation.

The reasons for the dropout is non affordability of college fee or factors like girls taking on the responsibility of household chores at a very young age.

Traditionally, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh both are an agrarian state, having majority of people living in villages and small towns.

Culturally both the states have immense respect for women but lack of education and poor economic condition has deprived females from basic standard of living.

This can be understood by the fact that, In Chhattisgarh Female literacy is at 59.58 % while male literacy stands at 80.27%. In Madhya Pradesh Female literacy is at 59.24% while male literacy stands at 78.73%. Both the states lag in female education and their social status.

A girl child who is even a little bit educated is more conscious of family planning, health care and, in turn, her children's own education.

“IBC24 Swarnasharda Scholarship”, is an initiative by IBC24 to empower the talented Girl child by encouraging her educational aspiration.

It is to recognize the outstanding performance of Girl child by providing her one time financial assistance to encourage her for further studies and be proud of what she has achieved in school life.

It’s an initiative for the Girl students appearing for 12th class state board exam, rewarding Rs. 50000 as a scholarship to each 1st Rank holder from 51 districts of Madhya Pradesh & 27 districts of Chhattisgarh and Rs. 1,00,000 to 1st Rank holder of each state.

School’s of 1st Rank holder of the states are also awarded with Prize money of Rs. 1,00,000.

Objective:

To provide economic support & encouragement to the Girl students to pursue their higher studies.

To ensure that the Girl child continues and excel in her field of study and blossom into a socially responsible and independent Citizen.

To encourage parents in providing continual motivation to their daughters in pursuing further education.

To motivate and support schools to provide better facilities in educating the girl child.

The important consideration in this initiative is that only the girls topping the 12th Board examinations from Chhattisgarh Board will be eligible for this Scholarship Program.
