July 2013e-freight international monthly report
e-freight
This scorecard is produced using the Message Improvement Program (MIP) data reported monthly by the airlines as well as CargoIS data for obtaining the total market figures. As not all the airlines participate in MIP and / or have the capability to report on EAP, EAW and ECC special handling codes respectively for e-freight and eAWBs, the reported volumes might be lower than the effective actual figures. Any figure including past figures might be revised from time to time, depending on data available to IATA at the time the report is made. The figures herein are provided without guarantee of any kind and IATA is not liable for consequences arising out of the use or inability to use any information provided herein.

Volume AWBs consignments within the e-freight network (see definition) for which at least one FWB electronic message has been reported in MIP. The industry averages from MIP are extrapolated to airlines not reporting to MIP.
Volume of e-freight consignments reported by airlines with both the EAW (e-freight without pouch) and ECC (e-AWB) special handling codes.
The Message Improvement Program. Opt-in program financed by IATA for both cargo airlines and forwarders, with 60+ participants of which the leading players. Airlines report every month all consignments handled with quality and performance indicators that are then analysed and consolidated to provide valuable quality metrics and business intelligence back to participants. MIP data represents at least 60% of the total market.
Total number of all AWBs reported to MIP and CargoIS. MIP + CargoIS data represents at least 80% of the total market.
Total number of all AWBs reported to MIP and CargoIS that are made between countries where e-freight is possible, taking into account MP4, MC99, Warsaw Convention signatory countries and other special cases if necessary.
