Greetings from Coimbatore.

We are delighted to welcome you all to the silver jubilee conference of the Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology IASGCON 2016 to be held at Coimbatore from 6 to 9 October 2016. Over the years, IASGCON has emerged as the annual pilgrimage for those who practise GI surgery. This was made possible by the concrete efforts put forth by the office bearers and the organising team all these years. We at Coimbatore hope to maintain the momentum it has generated with regards to the scientific content and organisational skills.

We are planning an exciting and comprehensive scientific programme incorporating all the sub specialities in GI surgery which will create interest for one and all who are participating in this congress irrespective of their area of interest. A galaxy of national and international faculty who are pioneers in GI surgery domain will be seen sharing their knowledge and expertise during this 4 day academic feast.

Coimbatore has earned the reputation of successfully hosting major surgical conferences in the past. This time around we are determined to raise the bar it has created for itself, more so when IASGCON comes to Coimbatore for the first time in its history. The congress will include live open and laparoscopic surgeries which will be transmitted in the all new 4K format.
