Player Bio

Ian Simmons is a talented young midfeilder who has the everything you are looking for in a top footballer. Ian began playing football at local club North Village in Bermuda at the age of 5. Even at such a young age the coaches could see that he had a lot of potential. At the age of 10 Ian signed for Bermuda Academy where he was coached by elite coaches who have had expereinces at Ajax and other clubs in Europe. Ian has been travelling to Europe to play football at the highest level since the age of 11. He has been selected in the National Allstar team each year while he was in school. He has spent months at a time each year travelling to Holland where he was coached by top coaches at Ajax Amsterdam and PSV. While in Europe he has competed in top professional tournaments where he faced the likes of Ajax Amsterdam, Roda JC and Feyenoord and while playing in these tournament he impressed a lot of people because of his superb technical ability, strength, speed and power. While in Bermuda he followed the elite coach that had taken him to Europe, to local club BAA. Here he was promoted to the first team at the age of only 15 and became a instant starter in the side. The level in Bermuda is not that high technically, but because he was playing against men at a young age, he has developed a lot of strength, awarenes and speed of intelligence. At the age of 16 he was selected to travel to Barcelona with an Elite Bermuda Select. In Barcelona he was coached by top level youth coaches at UE Corneillia. He is currently looking to pursue a career in football at the highest level and he is well equipped to do well at a professional level. In 2013 he decided to come to England and pursure his dream in football. Here he joined an elite training academy in Manchester called Manchester International Football Academy here he partook in intense pre-season training, where he was training everyday during the week with three sessions each day. While at MIFA Ian impressed coaches at Blackpool and Manchester City. This season Ian has been on trial at Chesterfeild in League 2 where he impressed and they could only offer to keep him at the club, but without a contract. He is currently playing for Bearsted FC in the Kent County League for means of fitness and sharpness. He has had interest from Farnborough in conference South, Brentford and Gillingham while playing in the Kent County League. Was coached by not only an Ajax coach, but also other top Dutch and Spanish coaches. Spanish coach from top youth club UE Cornelia, satellite club for Barcelona. I also played games against their 'B' and 'C' teams, which were u18 and u17 respectively. Played against top teams in the Eridivisie in Holland. NEC, Roda Jc, AZ Alkmaar, PSV, Ajax and Feynoord. Also top teams from Denmark, Japan, Poland, Mexico and Germany. Was scouted by Ajax, PSV, Groningen and NEC while playing in Holland during the ages of 12-16. Trained and played for Salford Fc for 2months summer while in Manchester. Declined to sign because I was looking for a pro club. Same situation happened with Barrow fc in

conference North. Have also gone on 4 football tours to Canada with my high school team which I captained for 2 years. Can get reference from former Bermuda national team coach Kenny Thompson. Also Blackpool and Manchester City coach Max Johnson. Played 12 games last season for Bearsted fc in England. Finished with 10 assists. My best attributes are my technical ability, vision, awareness, movement, speed and strength and my work rate and power. I can play attacking and defensive midfield.

Looking for a Pro club anywhere in Europe at any level as long as I get paid. I hold a EU passport and will pay for all travel expenses from the UK.Ian has a fantastic attitude, discipline and his work rate is superb and is a great team player and leader.

Ian is a right footed player, with perfect technique. He is a defensive midefielder and can score goals as well as defend and provide assists to his teammates. He has good height at 511 and is strong and powerful with a weight of 180lbs. He can organize his midfeild and is able to adapt to various situations that occur in the game. He has the ablity to lift his teammates as he has been captain of his youth teams and school teams during his whole youth career.
