IAEA Guidance on the Import and Export

of Radioactive Sources

List of Points of Contact

The ‘Code of Conduct on the Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources’ (the Code), in paragraphs 23-29, contains guidance concerning the import and export of Category 1 and 2 radioactive sources. In this connection, IAEA Member States developed the non-legally binding ‘Guidance on the Import and Export of Radioactive Sources’ (the Guidance) to provide supplementary guidance on

the implementation of those provisions of the Code. Paragraph 4 of the Import/Export Guidance states “Each State should nominate a point of contact, which could be a persons or a position, for the purpose of facilitating the export and/or import of radioactive sources in accordance with the Code and this Guidance. If more than one point of contact is designated by a State, the State should

indicate which point of contact should be contacted under which circumstances. States should provide the details of these points of contact to the IAEA.” Additions and amendments to this list of national contact points should be sent to IAEA through the

normal official channels, marked for the attention of Hilaire Mansoux (contact details are given below). Comments or questions can be sent to:
