Career in Cyber Security by. Mr.Ganapathy Subramaniam, Lead – UPS, Europe Information
Security.The speaker introduced the talk with various examples on information security. He
further gave the job opportunities that are available in the field of information and cyber
security and the necessary certificates that can be done to secure the job in information
security. This seminar was very constructive and highly informative as it introduced the
students to the world of information security and its applications and it focused more on
giving complete information in the field of information security. It also motivated large
number of students who wished to continue their carrier in that field.

The students of 2nd and 6thsem MCA were attended the session. The students were the
enthusiastic target audience for the Webinar on IOT. Dr.Margaret Mary motivated the
students with live experiments on tinkercard for IOT applications in current research
trends. She explained the project demonstration on tinkercard. She explained the various
applications of Internet of things in the day to day life. The students those who willing to
pursue research, she explained the various IOT topics, how it can be implemented
through various tools.

3. Webinar on “Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and Career Opportunities”
The students of 4th and 6thsem MCA were the enthusiastic target audience for the Webinar on
FOSS. Mr. Soma Shekar, an IT Consultant having two decades of experience in the domain
educated our students on importance of FOSS, how Indian FOSS is picking, the depth of its
applications in social media and IT Industries. He motivated the students with live example
achievers in the FOSS field and the different opportunities they have as FOSS users.

4. Guest Lecture on “ Latest Trends in OS” The target audience for the guest lecture were second semester MCA students. This
session was organized for them to provide an insight into the different operating systems
and the latest trends in OS. The speaker spoke about the difference between UNIX and
LINUX. Difference between OS supporting threads and programming languages
supporting threads. Security at the OS level and also the research avenues in OS and as a
software developer what the students should be aware of like Fiber programming, Real
time OS, Writing Device Drivers etc.

5. Webinar on “Algorithms” The speaker started with the introduction on types of computation and traditional way of
writing computer software for serial computing. The speaker briefed about the calculation
and computation that are carried out simultaneously in parallel computing. The speaker
explained different types of parallel sorting algorithm and some of the methods in
Amortization techniques like Aggregate method, accounting method and
potential methods.

6. Webinar on “IP Addressing & Network Devices-A practical demonstration “ The department MCA-BU, DSCASC organized a Webinar on “IP Addressing and Network
Devices - A practical Demonstration” for II, IV semester MCA students on 09-05-2020.
The speaker of the session was Dr. Manjunath M, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer
Application, R.V College of Engineering, Bangalore. The objective of this webinar was to
make the students aware about the various aspects of Computer Network with an
emphasis to practical demonstration of IP addressing and how various network devices
function in real time. The webinar was well attended as 5 faculties and 69 students from
2nd and 4th SEM MCA.

7. Webinar on “Big Data Analytics” The department MCA-BU, DSCASC organized a Webinar on “Data Analytics”
for II, IV semester MCA students on 14-05-2020. The speaker of the session was
Dr.SmithaRao, Professor & Program Director (Collaborative
Programs), Presidency University, Bangalore. The objective of this webinar
was to make the students aware about the Data analysis, Data analytics, Purpose
and difference. The speaker very well explained all Data Analytics techniques in
detail. The webinar was well attended as 4 faculties and 81 students from 2nd and
4th SEM MCA.

Cerner. The speaker gave the details about job opportunities that are available in
different fields of computer science and the necessary certifications that can be
done to secure those jobs. Then he gave a brief explanation about how an
individual can prepare as an entry level engineer, the required knowledge for an
individual to get a jo , the fields he/she should be strong enough and the concept
that they can cover/prepare during the lockdown period.
The Challenges that students are facing were explained by giving some of the code
challenging websites like HackerRank, HackerEarthetc and some job sites like
Internshala, LinkedIn etc .Not only sites but also some of the Youtube channel like
freecodeCamp, code School were told for gaining better knowledge. He also gave us
a live demo of how to host the project on GitHub.

10. National Seminar on “Cloud Computing using AWS”
This webinar was conducted to spread awareness about Cloud Computing and it's
advantages over On-Premises or physical infrastructure. This webinar was attended by
all the students and faculties of the department of MCA BU,DSCASC and many other
students from various colleges across the country since it was a national level
workshop.
The speaker of the day Dr.Ambika explained about, what is cloud computing and how
it has evolved over time. She spoke about the differences between cloud services and
On-Premises Services and how cloud services are in many ways better than it the
major differences being cost efficiency, global reach and more secure. She continued
the discussion with the clouds Services provided by Amazon Web Services like
security, networking, servers and storage and database

11. Webinar on “Hibernate Framework” To enhance the students’ knowledge in latest technologies and also as
requirement for gaining entry into the software industry, our HOD -MCA , Prof.
Suneetha V encourages all faculty to organize webinars in the above said topics. In
this regard, a webinar on “Hibernate Framework” was organized by Prof.
Srivatsala. The webinar was delivered by Prof. Ramesh Babu of Christ Academy.
The students of IV MCA attended this webinar. Prof Srivatsala welcomed the
speaker and kick started the session. Prof. Ramesh Babu covered various topics
like introduction, JDBC and ORM. He also used Eclipse IDE to show how the
various directory structures can be created to work with Hibernate. The libraries
and the configuration files like drivers etc were Pre-installed and the demo was
given on how data can be inserted into the database using Hibernate. Advantage of
Hibernate over JDBC was emphasized.

12. Know your Rights – Women and Legal Protection This webinar was conducted by Anti Sexual Harassment and Women's Redressal
Cell - Shakthi to spread awareness about women rights and their protection and
how we can help those suffering. This webinar was attended by all the girl students
and faculty members.
It started with a warm welcome. Then the speaker of the day Prof. N Laxmi Sheela
- Law Practitioner took over and started with making the students familiar with
what is women rights and how it has evolved over time. She spoke about many
different women rights starting from individual women rights to matrimonial
rights. She also spoke about dowry harassment, domestic violence and sexual
abuse. It also includes legal protection of the victim and the one who is suffering.
She also explained about Women’s human rights and how women are denied
political participation and fair representation.

13. National Webinar on “Robotics Process Automation”
The global health and economic crisis has awakened the need for more automation
through technology. In this regard the department MCA-BU, DSCASC organized a
National level Webinar on ”Robotics Process Automation" in association
with Elisrun technologies" on 18 July 2020 at 3.00 - 4.30 PM IST .The speaker of
the session was Mr.Kantesh - Certified UI Developer and Data Analyst
ElisrunTechnologies. The objective of this webinar was to give the participants
insights about Robotic process automation (or RPA) is a form of business process
automation technology based on metaphorical software robots (bots) or on artificial
intelligence (AI)/digital workers.

Counselling & Mentoring Cell – APTHAMITHRA
The Department of MCA(BU) organized the webinar on “How to develop right attitude“ by
Mrs. Jayanthi R Prasad Psychotherapist, Senior learning and development professional,
facilitator, trainer and coacher.
The objective of this webinar was to how to control their emotions and how to get rid of bad
habits. She is started with a small introduction to the topic and main focus was upon the
types of emotions and how to show the right emotions at the right time. She briefly spoke
about all types of emotions and explained how a person displays it according to the particular
situation. Mrs. Jayanthi R Prasad explained how a situation sometimes Gets the best and
worst of a person. She further spoke about how to control emotions at even unconscious
state.

The webinar on “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence @ Machine Learning” was conducted
on 29th July 2020 to spread awareness about job opportunities in the field of Data Mining
and Machine Learning.
Then the speaker of the day Mr. Arihant Jain took over and started with making the
students familiar with what is Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and how it is
developing with time. He spoke about the different job opportunities in the field of Machine
Learning and Artificial Intelligence. He further explained how data and Artificial
Intelligence is important for the digital economy. He also spoke about the various types of
data generated every day in different quantities. Then he spoke about the demand of data
scientists across various industries which was followed by the detailed role of data scientist,
how, the process he follows, how their work help the organizations and his earnings.

16. Webinar on “Innovation Ecosystem & Technology Business
Incubation”
Incubation and Innovation Cell organised a Webinar titled ‘Innovation Ecosystem &
Technology Business Incubation’ on 12th August 2020 at 10.00 am. The speaker of
the webinar was Dr. Shrinivas V K, Assistant Professor, School of Business and
Management, Christ (Deemed to be University) .The webinar took off with an interactive
session regarding role of Innovation, entrepreneurship, business Incubation, Incubation
centres and how they are formed and carried out in the organisation and certain cases were
discussed to make the audience understand the concept precisely. 172 participants for the
session include staff and students from DSCASC and DSU . The session ended with Q and
A session.

17. Technical Talk on “Microsoft Certification Program On Python
with PL/SQL”
This webinar was conducted to spread awareness about how job opportunities have
decreased due to the situation of COVID 19 and how it is affecting all the employees in the
corporate sector. Further, the importance of certifications or specialisations which play a
major role in the hiring of an employee was discussed.
The Speaker of the session discussed how python has slowly taken over the technical
sector of the world over the past decade. He showed a few examples of how python can be
much shorter and easier to write in comparison to the other present coding
languages. He then spoke about the Microsoft certification which holds a great deal of
value globally. These certifications are done by a person by giving online exams and can be
passed by a person who has in-depth knowledge of the subject.
18. Webinar on “Cloud Computing”
The webinar was conducted under Centre of Excellence -Web Technologies. The event
was conducted on 7th October 2020 from 10.00 A.M. to 11.30 A.M. in collaboration
with Upskill IQ and with help of Ms. Lopamudra. Prof. Suneetha V addressed the
gathering and welcomed the speakers. Ms. Lopamudra from Upskill introduced about
her organization and the trainer from Upskill IQ Mr. AdeepMalmotra explained about
Cloud Computing and their components. He explained the benefits and the uses of
cloud computing. He also went on to explain about Microsoft Azure and their Storage .
He gave brief demo about it and Students were given free account too. Quiz was
conducted at the end on the concepts explained in the webinar. Prizes were also
promised for the students. The event concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr.
Salini Suresh.

19. Webinar on “Content Management Systems Using Drupal
and WordPress”
The webinar was conducted under Centre of Excellence -Web Technologies . Prof
Srivatsala and Dr.Salini Suresh have coordinated the event. The event was conducted
on 19th October 2020 from 12.30 to 2,45.
The main agenda was to create awareness about the web site building technologies and
tools like Drupal and Wordpress. Dr.Chadrashekhar explained about Content
Management Systems and and their benefits in general. He explained about Drupal
and gave a short demo of how one can create a website using Drupal. Prof Vishal took
over and explained briefly about Wordpress. He gave a short demo of how easiy one
can build a website using Wordpress. He explained the difference between Wordpress
and Drupal.
20. A Webinar on “Data Science”
This workshop was conducted by MCA(BU) department in association with Imarticus
learning. The speaker started the webinar by the concept of data science and various types of
learing. Data Science is a blend of various tools, algorithms, and machine learning principles
with the goal to discover hidden patterns from the raw data. The field is growing so rapidly,
and revolutionizing so many industries. Data scientists must be skilled in various domains
from data engineering, math, statistics, advanced computing, visualizations etc. Data science
can be applied in various industries like healthcare, self-driving cars, logistics, entertainment,
finance, cyber security etc.
Later the speaker gave idea about how to get projects in machine learning projects. Finally
the session was concluded with question and answer session.

21. A Webinar on “Healthy Life Style for Sustainable Living”
The year 2020 is all about “Social Distancing”, ”Self-Isolation”, ”Hand and Sanitizer”, ”Hand
wash and Hygiene”. To have knowledge and keep ourselves highly Hygienic and clean,
Department of MCA organized a Webinar by inviting 3 Speakers “Dr.Deepthi”, ”Dr. Liza
Thomas”, Consultant Paediatrician and Adolescent Specialist, Clinical Psychologist and
“Dr.Rashmi”, Asst. Professor of Home Science who enlightened us in the area of Health and
Nutrition, Maintaining Mental Health and Having Balanced Sleep During this Pandemic
period. The speakers concentrated on consuming good food which includes fresh vegetables,
proteins, and carbohydrates in their diet. They also concentrated on psychology and mental
problems like what exactly in Adolescence people face. At last they included health
consciousness, stages of sleep and quality of sleep. The entire session was very informative
and full of facts.

22. Webinar on “Kick –off your start-up from Campus”
IQAC and Incubation and Innovation Cell, DSCASC in association with DERBI foundation,
Bangalore organised a webinar on “Kick –off your start-up from Campus” on 16th
December 2020 at 2.00 PM. The speaker of the event was Dr.LakshmiJaganathan, CEO,
DERBI Foundation. The speaker started the session with an introduction to DERBI
foundation and illustrated the growth graph of DERBI from 2009 to 2019. She explained how
to build a start-up, the role of an incubator and the challenges for campus entrepreneurs. The
speaker also gave information about the government’s support in form of funds and grants
for Incubation and Innovation cells in academic institutions. The speaker detailed how entire
process of idea generation to setting up a start-up can enhance the career growth .Webinar
concluded with an interactive Q and A session where the speaker answered the participant’s
queries related to the role of incubation centre in the campus .

cell. The webinar was presented by Mr. DIPIN SUKUMARAN, Founder And Digital
Marketing Consultant at Phoenix Digital Media. His presentation was all about: what
is Business?, Marketing Advertising and Distribution, Why is Digital Marketing More
