• Read all the instructions carefully before using the unit and keep them for future reference.

• Retain the manual. If you pass the unit onto a third party make sure to include this manual.

• Check that the voltage marked on the rating label matches your mains voltage.

Damage• Please inspect the unit for damage after

unpacking.• Do not continue to operate the unit if you

are in any doubt about it working normally, or if it is damaged in any way - switch off, withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.

Location of Unit• The unit must be placed on a flat stable

surface and should not be subjected to vibrations.

• Do not place the unit on sloped or unstable surfaces as the unit may fall off or tip over.

• The mains socket must be located near the unit and should be easily accessible.

• This unit is designed for indoor use only.

Temperature• Avoid extreme degrees of temperature,

either hot or cold. Place the unit well away from heat sources such as radiators or gas/electric fires.

• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and other sources of heat.

Naked Flames• Never place any type of candle or naked

flame on the top of or near the unit.

Moisture• To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or

product damage, do not expose this unit to rain, moisture, dripping or splashing. No objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the unit. Do not operate the unit with wet hands, near water or other liquid.

• If you spill any liquid into the unit, it can cause serious damage. Switch it off at the mains immediately. Withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.

Ventilation• To prevent the risk of electric shock or fire

hazard due to overheating, ensure that curtains and other materials do not obstruct the ventilation vents.

• Do not install or place this unit in a bookcase, built-in cabinet or in another confined space. Ensure the unit is well ventilated.

Safety• Always disconnect the unit from the mains

Mains Cable• Make sure the unit is not resting on top of

remove the insulating strip from the remote controlRemove the insulating plastic strip from the battery if the battery is being used for the first time. It is located at the bottom back side of the remote control.

2. Pull out the battery holder and remove the old battery.

battery replacement for the remote controlThe remote control requires a CR2025, 3V Lithium battery.

1. Slide and hold the battery release tab in the direction of the arrow.

3. Replace with a new battery.

4. Insert the battery holder back into the remote control.

leakage, which could cause fire, personal injury or damage to property.• Install the battery correctly by following the polarity (+ and –) indications

mains powerThis unit was designed to operate with an AC 100-240V power supply. Connecting the unit to any other power source may cause damage to the unit.

1. Unwind the mains cable to its full length.

2. Connect the mains plug to a mains socket. Make sure the mains plug is fully inserted into the mains socket. Switch on at the mains socket.

3. The unit is now connected and ready to use.

4. To switch the unit off completely, switch the MAINS POWER switch to the OFF position or withdraw the mains plug from the mains socket.

handling the remote control• Take care of your fingernails when you press and hold the battery release tab.• Do not drop or cause impact to the remote control.• Do not spill water or any liquid on the remote control.• Do not place the remote control on a wet object.• Do not place the remote control under direct sunlight or near sources

of excessive heat.• Remove the battery from the remote control when not in use for a long

period of time, as it could cause corrosion or battery leakage and may result in physical injury and/or property damage including fire.

general operation

switching on / off the unit• Ensure that the plug is switched on at the wall socket, then switch the POWER ON/OFF

switch at the rear of the unit to the ON position.

• To turn the unit on, either press the STANDBY button on the remote control or press the STANDBY/SOURCE button on the unit. The standby mode indicator will light.

• To switch the unit to standby, either press the STANDBY button on the remote control or press and hold the STANDBY/SOURCE button on the unit.

• To completely turn off the unit, switch the MAINS POWER switch at the rear of the unit to the OFF position.

selecting modes• On the unit, press the STANDBY/SOURCE button repeatedly to toggle between

Bluetooth, iPhone/iPod/iPad and AUX IN modes. The LED indicator next to the selection will light up indicating the mode chosen.

• On the remote control, press the SOURCE button repeatedly to select either Bluetooth, iPhone/iPod/iPad or AUX IN mode. The LED indicator next to the mode chosen will light up.

• NFC mode is selected with the unit in standby or Bluetooth modes by placing an NFC device close to (within 10mm) the unit’s NFC sensor.

adjusting the volume• Press the VOLUME +/– buttons on the unit or remote control to adjust the volume.

• If you wish to switch the sound off, press the MUTE button on the remote control. The LED indicator next to the mode in use will flash. Press the MUTE button again or the VOLUME +/– button to resume normal listening.

adjusting the sound effect• Press the BASS +/– button repeatedly on the remote control to adjust the bass level.

• Press the TREBLE +/– button repeatedly on the remote control to adjust the treble level.

If the unit is idle for approximately 20 mins, it will automatically switch to standby mode.

Bluetooth® operation1. Select BLUETOOTH mode by repeatedly pressing the STANDBY/SOURCE button

on the unit or SOURCE button on the remote control.2. Activate Bluetooth on the device to be connected and select search mode.

3. “ISBT10013” will appear on the list of Bluetooth devices. Type in the password “0000” if requested.

4. There will be a sound once the connection is complete.

5. In BLUETOOTH mode the PLAY/PAUSE, VOLUME +/– controls, MUTE button and buttons can be controlled using the remote control. Use the controls on the device for all other functions.

6. You must disconnect the Bluetooth device before it can be paired with another device. There will be a sound to confirm the disconnection.

If you are trying to pair your speaker to a mobile device and your mobile device shows the message ‘ failed to connect and password is incorrect’, then switch the unit off at the mains switch, wait 1 minute then switch the unit back on. Try pairing again using bluetooth or NFC modes.

Distance between device sensor and sensor area on unit should be less than 10mm

Connecting an NFC device with one already connectedYou can only connect one NFC device at a time. If an NFC device is already connected, the connected device must be disconnected before you can connect another NFC device. This is to prevent some from changing the music you are playing without your permission.

1. In the Bluetooth settings of the connected device select disconnect. The Bluetooth device will now disconnect.

2. While the speaker is in Bluetooth mode touch the other NFC device against the NFC sensor, the device will now connect.

NFC operationNFC is a one touch way of pairing your NFC device via Bluetooth to your speaker.

1. The unit must be in STANDBY or Bluetooth mode to pair using NFC. Check your device has NFC enabled.

2. Place the NFC sensor area on the device close to the unit’s NFC sensor area (it will work best within 10mm). The unit will switch on and switch to Bluetooth mode, it will play a sound to show it is connected via Bluetooth and the Bluetooth LED on the unit will light up.

The first time you use a device with NFC or if you have previously used it but un-paired it you will be asked if you want to connect to the speaker. Confirm you want to connect.

3. Use the controls on the device to select and play music. In Bluetooth mode the PLAY/PAUSE, VOLUME +/– controls, MUTE button and buttons on the device and remote control can be used to control playback. Use the controls on the device for all other functions.

4. To disconnect the device place it close to the NFC sensor area again. The device will disconnect and your unit will remain in Bluetooth mode.

If its the first time the NFC device has been used you will your HiFi you will be asked if you want to connect. Confirm you want to connect.

iPod / iPhone / iPad operationThis unit can support the following iPhone/iPod/iPad models.

1. Select IPHONE/IPOD/IPAD mode by repeatedly pressing the STANDBY/SOURCE button on the unit or SOURCE button on the remote control.

2. Connect your iPhone/iPod/iPad to the unit using the USB socket on the back of unit.

3. Once connected, the unit will start playback automatically and also start charging the device.4. Select your desired music and play the connected iPhone/iPod/iPad as usual.

You can use either the iPhone/iPod/iPad controls or the remote control.

• Press the PLAY/PAUSE button on the unit or remote control to start/pause playback.

• Press the buttons on the remote control to select the previous or next song. To fast rewind or fast forward through a song press and hold either the or button.

• To view menus on the iPhone/iPod/iPad, press the MENU button on the remote control, then use the UP/DOWN buttons to navigate through the different menu options. Press the ENTER button to confirm a choice.

To control the menu operation of iPad series, iPhone series, iPod touch series and iPod nano 6th generation, you need to enter the music menu on your iPhone/iPod/iPad first.

This manual provides the basic instructions of menu navigation on iPhone/iPod/ iPad. For advance operations, please refer to your iPhone/iPod/iPad instructions.

To avoid damaging your iPhone/iPod/iPad or the unit please take care when inserting and removing the cable.

If you charge the iPhone/iPod/iPad while playing music, it may take a longer time. 1st, 2nd & 3rd generation iPods cannot be charged.

connected by a USB cable.

AUX IN operation1. Make sure the unit is disconnected at the

mains socket.

2. Use a 3.5mm AUX IN cable to connect your audio device through the AUX IN socket at the rear of the unit.

3. Connect the mains plug to the mains socket and switch the POWER ON/OFF switch at the rear of the unit to the ON position. The unit will enter standby mode. The indicator light will be on but dim to show the unit is in standby mode.

4. Press the STANDBY button on the remote control or the STANDBY/SOURCE button on the unit to switch the unit on.

5. Select AUX IN mode by repeatedly pressing the STANDBY/SOURCE button on the unit or SOURCE button on the remote control. The Aux In indicator will now light brighter to show Aux mode is selected.

6. In AUX IN mode only the VOLUME +/– controls and MUTE button can be controlled using the remote control. Use the controls on the device for all other functions.

maintenance

cleaning the unit• To clean the unit, wipe the case with a slightly moist, lint-free cloth.

• Do not use any cleaning fluids containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasives.

• Do not spray aerosol at or near the radio.

Ensure to unplug the unit from the mains socket before cleaning.

Standby mode and Aux mode use the same indicator.

Standby mode is dim.

Aux mode is bright.

hints and tipsIf a problem does occur, it may often be due to something very minor. The following table contains various tips.

• Make sure the mains plug is connected to the mains socket and switched on at the mains.

• Check that the remote control has a battery. The battery may need to be replaced.

• Make sure that the power switch on the back of the unit is switched to ON.

iPhone/iPod/iPadThe unit doesn’t play files or doesn’t function as expected.

• Make sure the function is set to iPhone/iPod/iPad mode.• Make sure the iPhone/iPod/iPad is connected properly. • Make sure the iPhone/iPod/iPad is switched on.• Volume level may need increasing on the iPhone/iPod/iPad.
