Miss Strohrmann is a graduate of Sewanhaka high school and a past president of the Senior Luther league of the church. She is secretary to Cecil Spencer, principal of the Monroe and John street schools. Mr. Pascal is a graduate of Freeport high school.

Miss Hazel Marie Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Robert Davis of Stuyvesant avenue, Merrick, and Charles Stephen Balazs, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stephen Balazs of Rose-dale, were married Sunday at f p. m., in St. John's Lutheran church. Merrick. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The Rev. Edwin J. Grubb, pastor of̂ the church, officiated. The bride wore a white lace gown and long veil and carried a thower bouquet of white roses. Miss Mary Seanlon of Merrick was maid of Honor and Richard Davis of Merrick, the bride's cousin, was best man for Mr. Balazs.
A reception for about 50 per-aon* was held at the home of the bride's parents.
To Serve As Hostesses At Gardens On Parade
The garden department of the Maasapequa Women's club will supply hostesses, Thursday, for Gardens on Parade at the World's Fair, Mrs. Charles H. Halsey, department chairman, announced today. They include:

In Hempstead s Is the Bride of William Keller In Church Rites
The wedding of Mis« Margaret Vazzana, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Vazzana of Centennial avenue, Roosevelt, and William Keller, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Keller of Seaman avenue, Hempstead, took place Sunday at 4 p. m., in the Lutheran Church of the Epiphany, Hempstead. The Rev. Walter M. Ruccius, pastor, officiated.
The bride, given lrPmarriage by her father, wore a gown of white silk marquisette with a square neckline and a long full skirt. The gown was trimmed with white velvet and she wore mitt* of the same material as, that of the gown. Her veil, which was knee-length and covered her face, was held in place with a tiara of lilies of the valley. She carried a mother-of-pearl prayer book with valley lily markers.
Mrs. William Martin Pfeifler of Freeport, matron of honor, wore a gown of blue silk marquisette made in the same style as the bridal gown. She wore a large leghorn hat trimmed with blue velvet streamers and carried red roses, blue delphinium and gypsophila.
Jesse ConHlin of Hempstead was best man and ushers were Charles Keller, brother of the bridegroom, and William Martin PfeifTer of Freeport. A reception for about 50 persons was held at the bride's home. After a trip to Chicago where Mr. and Mrs. Keller will visit Mrs. Keller's sister, Mrs. Christian Peters, the couple will live in Hempstead.
Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson Celebrates Birthday
Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Whaley of Fulton street, Farmingdale, were hosts at a birthday party in honor of Mrs. Whaley's mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson, who was 85 years old Sunday. The party was held in the garden of the Whaley home, with Mrs. Wilson presiding at the table upon which a huge birthday cake with 85 lighted candles was placed.
Dinner and supper were served to a large group of guests, including Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wilson, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Wilson and their daughter, . Lor^tta, of Liberty Corners, N. Wilson and their children, Doris, Betty, Grace and Wesley, Jr., of Englewood, N. J.; Mr. and Mrs. Wisner Wilson of Shelton, Conn.; Mr. and Mrs. Carleton Frembes and their children, Lilla Grace, Donald and Richard of Downsville, N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. William Col-man of Merrick; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fricke and their son, Kenneth, of Sea Cliff; Mr. and Mrs. George A. Seaman and Miss Elizabeth Whaley of Farmingdale.

The bride wore a gown of white satin, and a family veil of rose point lace. She carried white orchids and Iily-of-the-valley.
Mrs. Edward Lowndes Rhett as her sister's matron of honor, and Miss Lucy Geoghegan as maid of honor, wer t gowned in wistaria chiffon and carried yellow roses and. delphinium. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Thomas Prosser, 4th, Miss Catherine Mortimer, Miss Isabel Combs, Miss Janet Campbell of Garden City; Miss Helen Frey, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Constance McKrnna of New York city. Their gowns were of cornflower blue chiffon, and they carried pale |>ink roses and delphinium.
Mason Frey was best man for his brother. Ushers were Thomas Good, Donald Vaughan, Jr., James Osborne, RBlph Ritchie. Edward Lowndes Rhetl. Orson Hammond and John Gfiffin.
After a reception at the Good home, Mr. and Mrs. Frey left for a wedding trip. They will live on East 93d street. Manhattan. Mrs. Frey attended the Cathedral School of Si. Mary, Garden City, and the Knox school. Coopers-town. Mr. Frey is a graduate of the Kent sAool. and is associated with Pedlar and Ryan, New York city. •

Mr. and Mrs. William Conklin of Belknap street, Springfield Gardens, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Ruth M. Conklin, to Lieutenant Milton Hansen of the Maritime brigade. Lieutenant Hansen is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hansen of Hutcheson place, Lynbrook, and is a graduate of Lynbrook high school. Miss Conklin graduated from Jamaica high school. No wedding date has been set.
Smith College Club Plans Picnic July 17
The Ocean club of Forest Hills at Atlantic Beach will be the scene of the annual picnic of the Smith College club of Long Island, Wednesday, July 17. Mrs. Ernest Molloy of Richmond Hill is chairman of general arrangements. Undergraduates are invited to attend.

Glass entertained at a buffet supper at their home on Harvard avenue, Rockville Centre, following the christening of their granddaughter, Barbara Annette Roos, three-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Roos, 3d, of New York city. Mrs. Roos is the former Miss Stella Glass.

The tri-color for the mo*t outstanding exhibit in the horticulture classes was presented to Mrs. Smith for her hybrid tea rose. Mrs. Post received a tri-color for her black and white arrangement of sweat peas. The contest was a r ranged by Mrs. Howard Noatrand in the absence of Mrs. George B. Graham.
A garden quiz was held after the business meeting, conducted by Mrs. Stephenson. Mrs. Paul, who answered the most question* correctly, received a prize.
Mrs. Stephenson reported on the progress of entries for the club's garden contest, based on sizes of plots ranging from 40 foot frontages in three groups. All entries must be received by Mrs. Charles W. Mundock, chairman, before July 15. Judging will take place late in August. The scale of point* consists of: conditions of lawn— 25 points; landscaping—35 point*; foundation planting—10 point*: plant material—20 points: and general appearance—10 points. Certificates of merit will be given to the winners in each class.
A donation of $10 was presented to the library fund at Hofstra college and a similar contribution was made to the Hempstead Elks club Christmas fund. New members enrolled at the meeting were Mrs. J. Bradley Lambert and Mrs. Joseph McKay.
