1.0 General and Safety• Donotinstall,operateormaintainthisflowmeterwithoutreading,understandingandfollowingthefactory-suppliedinstructions.Otherwise,injuryordamagemayresult.

2.0 Product Liability and Warranty
Arad’sstandardproducts(the“Products”)aresoldtoCustomerandarepurchasedbyCustomerunderthetermsofwarrantysetforthhereinbelow:
1.AradwarrantsthattheProductsshall,underconditionsofnormaluseandwhenproperlyinstalled,administered,appliedandmaintained,befreefromdefectsinmaterialandworkmanship(the“Warranty”),foraperiodof12monthsfollowingdeliverythereoftoCustomer(the“WarrantyPeriod”).
2.Arad’ssoleobligationandliabilityundertheWarrantyshallbelimitedtothereplacement,therepairortherefundoftheoriginalpurchaseprice,atArad’ssolediscretion,ofanydefectiveProductswhichareprovennottoconformtotheProducts’specificationandwhicharereturnedtothefactoryorservicecenterdesignatedbyAradduringtheWarrantyPeriodbytheCustomeraftercompletingafailurereport.AllprovidedthatwrittennoticeofsuchdefectisgivenbytheCustomertoAradwithin21daysafterdiscoverythereof.FreightcosttosuchfactoryorservicecenterwillbepaidbytheCustomerandfreightcostfromsuchfactoryorservicecentertoCustomerwillbepaidbyArad.
3.AradwillnotberesponsibleforandwillhavenoobligationundertheWarrantytoanynon-conformityoftheProducts,caused,inwholeorinpart,asaresultofmisuse,abuse,tamperingwithormodificationofanyoftheProductsand/orbyaccidents,faultornegligence,improperadministration,applicationand/oruse,installation,service,repairand/ormaintenanceoftherelevantProducts,byactofvandalismorbyanycauseswhatsoever(includingbutnotlimitedtoenvironmentalconditions)thatareexternalthereto.
4.Theforegoingwarrantyisalimitedwarrantyandisexclusiveandinlieuofallotherwarranties,expressorimplied,including,butnotlimitedto,theimpliedwarrantiesofmerchantabilityandfitnessforaparticularpurposeandshallconstitutetheCustomer’ssoleandexclusiveremedywithrespectthereto.ReplacementorrepairinthemannerprovidedabovewillconstitutefulfillmentofallofArad’sobligationswithrespecttothequalityandperformanceoftheproducts.Nodealer,distributor,agentoremployeeofeitherAradorcustomerisauthorizedtomodifythesewarranties.SuchmodificationshallbenullandvoidandshallnotbindAradforanyandallpurposes.
5.Exceptandtotheextentprovidedunderthewarranty,innoeventshallAradbeliable,whetherincontract,tortorotherwise,foranydamages,whetherdirectorindirect,consequential,incidental,specialorpunitive,resultingfromanydefectintheproducts,including,withoutlimitation,lossofprofits,business,income,anticipatedsavings,goodwillorothercommercialloss,evenifAradhadbeenadvisedofthepossibilityofsuchdamages,excepttotheextentthatsuchliabilitymaynotlawfullybeexcluded.
Customershallbesolelyresponsiblefortheselection,use,efficiencyandsuitabilityoftheProducts.
3.0 Items Included With Order:• OneOCTAVEultrasonicflowmeter,sizeasindicatedonthepackagingbox,piecedtogetherintoacompletecompactsystem(flowtubepluselectronics).
• OneOUTPUTmodule,eitherdigitaloranalog(basedonthecustomer’sorder).

4.0 Supplied Documentation:• Condensedinstallationandusermanual.• Reportoffactorymetersettings.• Certificateofcalibrationdata.
5.0 Unpacking and Inspection• Thisproducthasbeenthoroughlyinspectedandtestedbeforeshipmentandisreadyforoperation.• Aftercarefullyunpackingthemeter,inspectforshippingdamagebeforeattemptingtoinstall.Ifanyindicationofmechanicaldamageisfound,immediatelycontacttheresponsibletransportationserviceandyourlocalARADLTD.representative.
6.0 System Description and Measurement Method • TheOCTAVE’smeasurementmethodisbasedonanultrasonic,transit-time,dual-beamsensorwhichdeterminesthelengthoftimeittakesanultrasonicsoundwavetotravelthedistancebetweenthetwosensorslocatedonthemeter’sbody.Thetwosensorsfunctionasboththesenderandthereceiver,eachonealternatingthesefunctionssothattheultrasonicwavetravelsbothwithandagainstthedirectionoftheflow.Sincetheultrasonicwavetravelssloweragainsttheflowthanwiththeflow,thetimedifferenceoftwowavestravelingwithandagainsttheflowleadstodeterminingthevelocityofthewater.
• TheOCTAVEultrasonicflowmeterisabattery-poweredprecisionflowmeterdesignedforlinear,bidirectionalflowmeasurementofwater.

• Flowdirection:TheOCTAVEisabidirectionalflowmeter.NotetheindicatingarrowontheOCTAVE’sdisplayforforwardandbackwardflows.
