Last year's Christmas cards said "May the force be with you for the Holidays and throughout the New Year!" And they included pictures of the boys dressed as Yoda and Darth Vader. I'm all about the Star Wars.

I know, dammit. When you went to use your BOGO coupon and they said you couldn't use it on anything by Kitchen Aid it was a betrayal just like when Boba Fett got pushed in the hole after

he captured Han Solo. Or when Lando sold them out in Cloud City. We get it.

I hate it when a store clerk tells you "have a good day" instead of "may the force be with you." Seriously, every time I hear that it makes me want to boycott the company. People just need to look at history and realize that we are a force based society. I'm so tired of having my faith disrespected.

I have a cute Star Wars story that I want to share with everyone, all the time, everywhere. Sometimes I will call a friend in the middle of the night when I realize I haven't shared it in awhile. I'm excited to share it here. Wait. I forgot the story. I'll be back. Wait. Wrong movie.

Well, Cat you need to watch them. Everyone should see and experience the good news. And just the original three. Not the adulterated versions Lucas reworked in his dottage. Not the garbage prequels which are nothing but the Gnostic Gospels of the Star Wars TRILOGY.

Compwalla, you of all peaple know that you cannot pick and choose from the Saga. You have to take all 6 movies in context. Otherwise you set yourself up for only getting partial information and you miss out on the fullness of the series.

Mary when I saw this (http://www.edmontonjournal.com/entertainment/movie-guide/Star+Wars+exhibition+will+feature+costumes+artwork/5754004/story.html ) I thought of you and Bennett right away! I think you had better be scheduling your next family vacation for Canada! "A new travelling Star Wars exhibition is coming to Edmonton from a galaxy far, far away. Star Wars Identities, which features costumes, props, models and artwork from the blockbuster movie franchise, will open at the Telus World of Science in October 2012. It's one of only two North American stops for the exhibition, which opens in Montreal in April. Along with giving fans the chance to ogle some 200 objects from the Lucasfilm Archives - including Darth Vader's costume, the Millennium Falcon model and Anakin's full-sized Podracer - the exhibition examines the identities of father-son duo Anakin and Luke Skywalker. The exhibition will look at the origins of the two Jedi Knights, and the influences and choices that make them so different. X3 Productions partnered with the Montreal Science Centre to develop the exhibition, with help from a committee of local scientific advisers. Professors in neuropsychology, psychology, biochemistry, social psychology, occupational therapy and education from McGill University, Université de Montréal and Université du Quebec lent their expertise. "We get a deeper understanding of their (characters') identities, and, at the same time, we get a deeper understanding of our own," Jacques-Andre Dupont, executive director of Montreal-based X3 Productions, said in a news release. "It's a character-driven adventure into identity."

The holiday special is notoriously terrible. That's why it's better to watch it whilst completely baked. Then it's hilariously terrible. I haven't watched it since I retired my bong in 1992.

It was more like that time that I wanted to go to Tashi station to pick up some power converters, but my freakin' uncle made me stay home and take care of our new droids.

I canNOT read this without hearing a very whiny Mark Hamill... (I was nine; of COURSE I had a crush on him!! except for that one whiny bit...)

I didn't take my husband's name when we got married. When we had our oldest we had a disagreement as to whether DS's name should be First name middle name DH's name my name. Or First name middle name my name DH's name. I convinced DH to see things my way bc that would make ds's initials SITH

Believe it or not, I was born Before Star Wars (BSW). When I was a tween the world was introduced to Star Wars and the wonders of the Force. I really didn't understand until I had children. My children love Star Wars and I have learned to love Star Wars too.

I think Star Wars nerds might be the most persecuted nerds out there.

You are kidding right? My love of Star Trek has been ridiculed for at least 15 years longer than the persecution for your "new style" Star Wars! Captain Kirk BOLDLY went where NO huMAN EVER WENT and shagged the dang Universe. Brother-Sister kiss? Bah! How about the first inter-species kiss! That's how Captain Kirk rocked the Uni! So much for your "Force", I go BOLDLY like my man, Kirk!

How to inter-species kiss like Kirk!

And think about that half-Human Spock and his kinky Mind Meld. Dude melded with a HOT ROCK for gosh sakes!

Luke on the other hand is a whiny little wimp. Anyone who uses the phrase, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree," obviously has never watched Star Wars.

ANYONE who has seen the apocryphal Episodes 1, 2, and 3 knows exactly where Luke gets his whiny attitude from.

FYI, This thread helped me solve my Christmas dilemma: What in the hell do I get DH?!? (aside from the obvious...) He's been so down in the dumps about being out of work...and he's a big Firefly fan (loves Jayne - makes him laugh, hard, LOL!)...and I ran across THIS on Etsy and *BAM!* It's perfect. PER. FECT. I'm gonna wrap it up with a note on top that says "A man walks down the street in that hat, people know he's not afraid of anything."

Here's hoping it boosts his spirits a bit.

Our license plates say Tie FTR and DETH STR. We are clones, I guess. For the Whiny Luke camp (source: Mentally Incontinent ): A furious light-saber duel is underway. DARTH VADER is backing LUKE SKYWALKER towards the end of the gantry. A quick move by Vader, chops off Luke's hand! It goes spinning off into the ventilation shaft. Luke backs away. He looks around, but realizes there's nowhere to go but straight down. Darth Vader: Obi Wan never told you what happened to your father. Luke: He told me enough! He told me you killed him! Darth Vader: No... I am your father! Luke: No, it's not true! That's impossible! Darth Vader: Search your feelings... you know it to be true... Luke: NO! Darth Vader: Yes, it is true... and you know what else? You know that brass droid of yours? Luke: Threepio? Darth Vader: Yes... Threepio... I built him... when I was 7 years old... Luke: No... Darth Vader: Seven years old? And what have you done? Look at yourself, no hand, no job, and couldn't even levitate your own ship out of the swamp...

Luke: I destroyed your precious Death Star! Darth Vader: When you were 20! When I was 10, I single-handedly destroyed a Trade Federation Droid Control ship! Luke: Well, it's not my fault... Darth Vader: Oh, here we go... "Poor me... my father never gave me what I wanted for my birthday... boo hoo, my daddy's the Dark Lord of the Sith...waahhh wahhh!" Luke: Shut up... Darth Vader: You're a slacker! By the time I was you're age, I had exterminated the Jedi knights! Luke: I used to race my T-16 through Beggar's Canyon Darth Vader: Oh, for the love of the Emperor... 10 years old, winner of the Boonta Eve Open... Only human to ever fly a Pod Racer... right here baby! Luke looks down the shaft. Takes a step towards it. Darth Vader: I was wrong... You're not my kid... I don't know whose you are, but you sure ain't mine... Luke takes a step off the platform, hesitates, then plunges down the shaft. Darth Vader looks after him. Darth Vader: Get a haircut!

This is not the thread you are looking for. I go to Star Wars weekends every year with my now 12 year old daughter. You have to brainwash them early. I messed up with my now 21 year old, she hates it. She would not let me dress up my new grandson this year for Halloween. My ex husband dressed as darth vader this year, our 12 year old daughter princess leia. Yes we have a Lego Star Wars advent calendar and everything Star Wars. Love it!

I was all ignoring this thread, thinking it was all Star Wars and light sabers, ::gag:: And then you

had to bring up Firefly and that amazing picture of Mal.

I haven't seen the DVD RTJ. Why would they do that? If Obi looks the age he ws when he died why would the suddenly make Darth vader young again? There is a distrubance in the force here.

This thread has made me laugh so hard! The Admiral Ackbar toilet seat might be my favorite thing ever!

I think mine too. I sent it to my husband's email at work. Weird, he hasn't replied yet.

Did you see the Big Bang scene where Sheldon is practicing his Ackbar impression?! It's a TRAP!!!!

Noooo now I'm being opressed by Geroge Lucas it's as bad as the day men in black suits came

to make me sign some documents and say I never read them. BTW the men really did wear black suits terrible clashing pinstripe shirts and ties though. It always made me wonder if they are the reason for the myths. But the MIB in the myth are supposed to look cool arn't they? Oh well.
