I love being a pastor! I mean I LOVE being a pastor. I love opening God’s word and expounding on every word. I love visiting people in the hospital. I love being a bright spot in a person’s dark world. I love seeing people pray to receive Christ. I love committee meetings (yes, I said that!!) I love leading a church to follow Christ. I love coming to work everyday. I love our staff. I love our church members. I love our school. I love our ministries. I’ve probably left something off, but just fill in the blank for me. I LOVE being a pastor.
But more times than not I feel totally inadequate!! I feel like I don’t always say the right thing. I feel like my sermons are not always complete (not that they’re not long enough…but how can a fallen man do justice to the eternal, infallible, inspired WORD of GOD?!???). I feel like I don’t do the right thing all of the time. I feel SO inadequate to lead GOD’s church. I feel like I can’t give enough…can’t do enough…can’t be enough. I love it, but I don’t always feel like I’m up to it. I hope that’s not too much.
HOWEVER…every time, I have those feelings of inadequacy, I remember that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a DONKEY!!! Yes, a stinkin’, dirty, heehaw-in’ DONKEY. He could have walked in under his own power. He could have rode in on a chariot. He could have ridden a stallion. His disciples could have carried him in. He rode in on a DONKEY!
Let me say this very clearly…if a donkey was good enough to carry Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday 2000 years ago, then I am good enough to carry Jesus into a lost and dying world today. Let me say this clearly again…if a donkey was good enough to carry Jesus into Jerusalem, then YOU are good enough to carry Jesus into the world. So what are you waiting on? It’s time to carry Jesus into YOUR world. That’s what it’s all about.

Senior Adults come to our meeting March 28, 2013 in FLC High School
room. Our program will have Terry Williams the State Music Leader from
Jacksonville. He will be sharing our old gospel hymns that we all were
raised with, some history, some stories, some tidbits as we all sing. Our
Meeting will start at 10:30 a.m. See you all there for a special program,
fellowship and a great lunch provided by Marjorie Savage.
