now losing hope to humanity. Losing hope that we humans can still change to make the world we live in, a better place. May this fictional story deliver a message to our readers – that even if almost everybody has changed, for worse, there is still a chance of us changing for good, by the help of those who cares enough to make every single person’s path to life right. One morning, there is a discussion in Mrs. Teacher’s classroom. Mrs. Teacher asked her students, “ How will you shape a welcoming world?” Her students replied, “ Using a spoon!”, another replied “ Putting a sign board that says WELCOME! In every corner of the world”, “Very good” said Mrs. Teacher. “ Now I’m going to tell you a story of how a boy shaped a welcoming world, let’s start.” said Mrs. Teacher.

” THE JOURNEY OF POLAR SOLAR”.

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Polar Solar. He has a friend who was named Daniel D. Whoman. Polar lives with Daniel because his parents died. His dad died because of eating too much bananas, while his mom died because she slipped on the banana peelings from his father.

He lives in a world, full of people, people who has different kinds of hearts – a stone heart, a money heart, a shattered mirror heart and a black heart.

People with money hearts, only lives for money, doesn’t care about anything – only money. A stone heart never wants to learn how to love again and again, they are scared of being hurt. The shattered mirror heart lives wondering and learning how to mend a broken family…

Last but not the least, people with black heart. Type of people who has lies planted in their heart. Polar and Daniel never liked the place they live in, there is no such thing as the word “Love”

Wait what is love? “Love is like a banana next to a banana or a pineapple next to an apple that is close to a pen!” said Daniel. “No! Love is about unity, about helping and not hurting, about truth and about caring” explained Polar. They’ve always love to have an adventure but didn’t have a chance to have one.

One Tuesday morning, Polar and Daniel met an old woman named “ Mrs. Old”. She started talking to them “ Oh hello good gentlemen!” “ Hi…?” replied Polar and Daniel “ Do you want to have an adventure?’ asked the old lady, Daniel and Polar had been waiting for this moment to happen so they absolutely said, “ No, why?”

“Yes!? Well great then! When I was still a little girl, maybe back in 1990’s! No, no 1970’s, no that’s too much, wait aha! Back in 1990’s! No, no 1980’s! Back in 1980s, that was the time that people had still the love heart. While playing I hid a love heart at the top of that mountain! I knew people would change for good but apparently not… Would you please get that love heart and bring back the old world we once had?” asked the old lady.

“ Well okay then, it’s a pleasure to do that” replied Polar. The next day they went on the foot of the mountain where they were told where the love is at to begin their journey.

“ I think we need a ride…” said Daniel “ How convenient, there’s a horse right there, let’s use it” said Polar, Daniel replied “ No, no, no, no, no…. NO! The cow is faster than that pony, let’s just use this instead” “Fine” Polar replied.

They went all the way to the mountain for one week realizing it was the wrong mountain, the right mountain was on the left side. So they went back.

When they reached the top of the mountain, it was finally the rea- wait, wait… no its not, it was the mountain where they were at earlier, they was just looking at the wrong spot. So they went back. It took them a week or 2. Then, they finally made it to the top but now they’re looking for the cave where the heart is.

Then, they saw the cave, they dig and dig and dig all day and all night.

They saw the heart, it was very different from the hearts they commonly see. It was the prettiest of them all, the brightest and the most neat heart they saw. When they stepped outside, Daniel took the heart and raised it as high as he can and shouted “We finally have it!” but….

suddenly a bird took it.

They tried to run as fast as they can to catch it but the bird was too fast and too high for them to catch the bird. I should not have took it…’ Daniel said “Oh Yes! It’s your fault!” Polar shouted “ But I’m so sorry…I…I” Daniel replied but polar refused to listen and walked out.

On their way home, polar apologized,” I’m sorry Daniel, I should not have shouted on you, it wasn’t your fault, I’m so sorry, what happened earlier was not an enough reason to shout at a friend who accompanied me in my whole life, friends…? “ I’m so sorry too…” replied Daniel.

After that, they slept. The next morning, Polar woke up. He noticed something different – their hearts! He saw the hearts of people, lovely bright and clean just like “ love heart”, Polar didn’t know how it happened.

Then Mrs. Old went to Polar and say “ I saw what you did there, when you were having your journey towards the top of the mountain. I saw you give your favorite food to that homeless guy. I saw you give food to the hungry animals even if you also need that food.

I saw that you didn’t give up when you made a mistake, I saw everything! You inspired me, you gave me hope that I was not the only person who has the “ love Heart “, you have it too, so as a gift I shaped a more welcoming world to live in.

“Thank you Polar”, “Thank you too” replied Polar, then Mrs. Old suddenly vanished. Now Polar and Daniel is living in a more welcoming world… and that’s how the Journey of Polar Solar” ended. God had a pencil, You have the Highlighter, With the pencil, he drew the world With you, it can be brighter…

About the author:Missey E. Molon is an 11 year old girl who likes to

write long stories because she likes it to be very detailed. She started writing stories when she was still in grade one, she even wanted to publish a story about turtles and sell it for Php 20.

About the IllustratorsJamie Lenylle S. Nazareno is an 11 years old girl who loves to draw about

people, animals, or things because she likes to be artistic. She started drawing when she was 8 years old in grade 2 but now she is already grade 5 and good at drawing. She started drawing in 8 years old because in grade 1 she know that she turned 3RD place in the drawing competition, she was so proud of herself and their family.

Sharimae Declaro is 10 years old girl who loves to draw about fashion. She wanted to be a fashionista when she grow up, she draw dresses that people want and love to buy or make. She started drawing when she was in grade 3.

They used paint and searched from the internet. They worked hard day by day to make their group proud of them.

Acknowledgement:I want to acknowledge my parents who inspired me to make a

wonderful story so that I could make them proud. I also want to acknowledge my classmates – Jamie, Sharimae, Lance and Jedd. They helped me in making this story, without them, I wouldn’t be able to make this story even more beautiful.
