Being Crowned your 2014 Jr. Division Just Sunning winner last year was amazing! This title not only combined two of my favorite optionals;
Photogenic & Casual Wear, but it also gave me an opportunity to show the true meaning of what it means to be "Just Stunning". I feel that it is
important for girls to be "Stunning" in everything they do! This includes, school & hobbies. I continue to give my very best in the art of Ballet, where I am a recipient of a scholarship for the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, as well as in
School where I was recently awarded a scholarships (over $15K in scholarships) to attend the prestigious Chicago Academy for the Arts as
Dance major! For me, Just stunning is more than a title, it's a way of life! I just Might, be "Just Stunning" in everything I do!

My ambitions towards developing my skills in acting and modeling, while working diligently in school towards becoming an English Teacher, has recently inspired me to imagine and outline ideas for my first novel. My love for drawing, reading, writing and our military service members, has created a love of spending hours working with great organizations such as, Operation PAL (Prayers and Letters) and First Book. Becoming a member of the IJM family and awarded the Just Stunning title has opened doors of opportunity, embracing lifelong friendships and exciting new experiences.

I am “Just Stunning" because I am beautiful inside and out. Because of being involved in pageants over the past year, I
have become involved with several charities through volunteer service and have met a lot of interesting people. This has led
to new friendships and becoming a role model for girls my age and younger. My self-confidence, poise and personality have
improved, and this has made by inner beauty shine. This is why I am “Just Stunning" and beautiful inside and out.

You just might find me on the basketball court, softball field or shining on stage, but wherever you find me ---- I will be smiling. I believe a genuine smile, a positive attitude, and a faith filled heart are what make me stunning. I love to give a helping hand and make people laugh wherever I go. I am new to IJM and can't wait to see everyone at Internationals.

I've traveled over a MILLION miles for my Dad’s job since I've been born but this past year, IJM has made traveling so much fun! From going on a cruise to Mexico, flying to London and Paris, and being able to travel to almost all the state pageants across the country made this year one to remember. A few things that I bring with me on every trip is a good book (my favorite right now is the Gone series), headphones and some great music, my IJM blanket, computer, and a camera! Some of my favorite places I love to travel to is definitely New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, and Orlando! Some of the great things I like to do when traveling is to meet new people, taste local dishes, and visit local landmarks. Maybe when you travel to Virginia Beach you can try a great local restaurant or go to a cool local landmark.

You’ll Never Know Unless You Try
For as long as I can remember, my parents have always encouraged me to try new things. Whether it’s tasting food or attempting a different activity, I make an effort to try something new on a regular basis. It’s because I am willing to try new things that I’m able to appreciate things most other eight year olds may not even think about. For example, I love to eat spicy foods like jalapenos and blazing wings from Buffalo Wild Wings. I’m also a big fan of sushi and currently hold the record for eating the spiciest sushi roll at our local sushi restaurant. They even created a new, spicier roll and named it after me! My adventurous side does not end with food, though. I also enjoy trying new activities. I started riding horses when I was three and am also a competitive gymnast. After watching the movie Brave, I decided I wanted to try archery as well. That year, for Christmas, Santa brought me a bow and arrow and I have been shooting ever since. Through IJM, I was able to travel internationally for the first time, which allowed me to learn about other cultures, too.
Trying new things is just like zip-lining (my new hobby)! As you step to the edge, preparing to jump it can be intimidating and scary. But once you take the first leap, you start to fly, and it gives you an amazing new perspective. Certainly there will be some things that you try and choose never to do again (Like eating peaches…I hate peaches!) but, at least you can say you tried!
“Never be afraid to try something new because life gets boring when you stay within the limits of what you already know.”

Throughout my reign I have had so many incredible opportunities come my way. I have been able to travel the world, meet new friends and the best was growing as a person through connections I have met along the way. One of the most memorable memories was when I got the chance to star in a country music video as the lead love interest! The singer was a local from Columbus, Georgia by the name of Ricky Gunn. When I first got the call from my agency I was told that the director of a music video was interested in booking me. Of course I thought that I was maybe an extra or a stand-in like I was in the movies I have been in. I then received an email with my script and the role I was casted in. It said “Taylor- Lead, Dawn”. I was over joyed by the fact that my dream of being the lead girl in a country music video was happening. The day of the shoot was FREEZING outside and we were told that the scene took place during fall….so you could imagine what we had on. Yes, that’s right. Shorts, dresses, and skirts in 32 degree weather. It took two days for everything to be filmed. We had many different scenes to shoot such as; the car ride, the bonfire, the football game, and the awkward kissing scene. Meeting everyone like the crew and other actors was the most fun I have ever had on set. Ricky was a joy to be around and very humble. He kept calling me Taylor Swift because he said I was blonde and my name was Taylor so it was be easier to remember. I am very blessed and thankful for all the opportunities I have been given this year as the International Teen and wouldn’t have changed it for anything!!

The International Junior Miss Scholarship Program has given me the ability and confidence to stand in front of kids and speak about my platform “Just The Way You Are.” It's about embracing your differences, and being comfortable in your own skin. Turning your scars into stars.

A year ago, I would never have seen myself where I am today. I was bottled up and shy. But, I had dreams to perform on stage and to be able to speak in front of hundreds of people. I worked hard to gain the courage I needed and my confidence grew like a burst of light. Now, I travel to schools and share my break-through story and try to inspire other kids to work to become more confident. When I speak and perform in front of people now, I am no longer afraid and I feel like I am a shining star! That is what makes me Just Stunning.

I am passionate about helping others. I cannot think of a better way to spend my time than serving as a volunteer, and I cherish every moment —whether I am bottle-feeding orphaned kittens, cleaning up around my school, coaching young girls, or cheering on Special Olympic athletes. Aesop said it best “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” I just might….help make the world a better place by serving others.
