INTRODUCTIONSunnen® HTA Belt Replacement Kit is designed toplaced the Drive Belt on Sunnen HTA-Series TubeHones (For Belts HTA2098 & HTA2082.)

TOOLS & MATERIALSThe following tools and materials are required forunpacking and installing of your Machine:

Knife Hex Wrenches Crow Bar Open End Wrenches Tin Snips Cleaning Solvent

NOTE: Refer to HTA Repair Parts Catalog Figures 1-A, 1-C, 2-B & 2-C. (Refer to Figures A, B, C, & D.)

INSTALLATIONRead the following instructions carefully and thoroughlybefore unpacking, inspecting and installing the Kit.To install Kit, proceed as follows:

NOTE: Before beginning ensure Motor (CarriageAssembly) is not sitting at either ends of its stroke(see Figure 1).

1. Turn OFF all electrical power to the machineand insult Lockout Tag.

2. Remove Support Backet securing two BeltCovers (refer to Figure 1); lay mounting hardwareand Bracket aside for re-installation.

3. Then remove two Belt Covers (refer to Figure 1);lay mounting hardware and Covers aside for re-installation.

4. At end of machine opposite the motor:

● Remove Cover on Tensioning Belt Assembly.

● Then using a grease pencil mark each side ofTensioning Block for belt replacement (see Figure 2).

NOTE: This ensures new belt will be aligned in sameplace and track properly.

5. Move to Motor end of machine and repeat forClamping Block at that end (see Figure 3).

6. Remove Jam Nut from Tension Belt Assembly;then back off Tension Nut to eliminate any belttension (see Figure 4).

7. Remove four (3) Screws in Tensioning Blocksecuring end of Belt (refer to Figure 4).

8. At motor end of machine: Remove four (4)Screws in Clamping Block securing end of Belt inTeeth Plate (see Figure 5).

9. Remove three (3) Screws securing PulleyHousing Cap to Floating Bearing Bracket; thenremove Cap and lay aside (see Figure 6). (Cabletrack will be attached to the cover.)

10. Remove Belt from Pulley and Idlers (see Figure 7).

INSTALLATION

11. Feed new Belt through Pulley and Idlers.

12. At motor end: Lay end of Belt on Teeth Plate,ensuring full teeth engagement.

CAUTIONEnsure belt is aligned with marks on Clamping Blockto insures proper tracking.

13. Position Clamping Block over Belt and TeethPlate, then secure with four (4) Screws removed instep 8. (Watch orientation of offset holes).

14. Replace Pulley Housing Cap using three (3)Screws removed in step 9.

15. At end of machine opposite the motor: Pull allBelt slack towards Tensioning Belt Assembly.

16. Lay end of Belt on Teeth Plate, ensuring fullteeth engagement.

CAUTIONEnsure belt is aligned with marks on TensioningBlock to insures proper tracking.

17. Position Tension Block over Belt and TeethPlate, then secure with three (3) Screws removed instep 7.

● Tightening Screws in an alternating pattern.Torque Screws to (60) inch pounds.

CAUTIONBelt should be fully engaged in teeth of block, and inthe free state before tensioning the belt, all slackshould be removed from the belt.

18. Replace Cover on Tensioning Belt Assembly.

19. Re-tension Belt using Tension Nut until spacerindicator falls within backside of window in cover.

● Then tighten Jam Nut.

20. Replace Belt Covers and Support Bracket.

INSTALLATION IS NOW COMPLETE
