What awaits us? We’re at the starting gate of a new year. What will it hold for us? Only God knows. Yet if God knows, why not try to discover his plan for us each day? We should carry on a daily dialog with God. Following his lead is always interesting and challenging. And much of the time it’s filled with wonder and joy. I remember the story of a small boy who prayed to God at the end of a fun, interesting Monday: “It’s been a wonderful day, God. What do you have in mind for Tuesday?” What does God have in mind for you in 2008? Keep in touch with him, and you’ll enjoy the trip around the sun. —Charles Ferrell

Kim Anderson Fund
Some of you may not know that our Building Superintendent, Kim Anderson, passed away on
December 11. She is going to be greatly missed. In memory of Kim, the church council has set up a
Kim Anderson Fund here at Macedonia. The money donated to this fund will go directly to
Kim’s family in the home. If you would like to make a financial donation to this fund, please make
the check out to Macedonia Lutheran Church earmarking it for the Kim Anderson Fund. Please
drop these donations in the offering plate on Sunday or bring it by the church office. These gifts are not
considered tax deductible. If you have any questions, please call the church office at 227-5554.
"HYMNS FOR HEALING" We thank you for your enthusiastic support of the release of the CD, "Hymns for Healing." We will continue to sell the CD as long as there are folks to buy it (or we hit our copyright limit of 250 CDs), continuing sales into 2008. All proceeds
are going toward the youth trip to the National Youth Gathering in July 2009 in New Orleans, where the theme will be "Jesus, Justice and Jazz." The cost per CD is $20 (cash or checks payable to Macedonia). There are 12 hymns on
the CD, including "A Mighty Fortress," "Amazing
Grace" and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand." The CDs are available during the week in the office or
on Sundays from youth or Joy Rust after the service .
This project will receive matching funds from our local chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
A special thank you to Rachel Spencer, who designed
the cover for the CD, and also to Bob Clark who is helping with the production of CDs. Thank you!
L E A F Elon University LEAF Ministry Update . . . LEAF (Lutherans, Episcopalians And Friends) continues to meet on campus for worship and fellowship on Sunday

Also in December a petition was signed and submitted by 52 Elon students to become a recognized campus student organization. In January representatives from Macedonia
will meet with Pastor Jack Saarela, the Coordinator for Campus Ministry for ELCA Regions 7, 8 and 9, along with representatives from other interested congregations. Please keep this vital and vibrant young ministry in your prayers. This is a 15 year Macedonia vision and dream coming true! We are in need of individuals, families or
organizations to provide meals on Sunday evenings for LEAF. It is usually a meal for about 20-25 people.
Please contact Yvonne White, Beverly Hiller or Joy Rust if you can help us. We need your help!
