Dr. R. Shashi Kumar is Professor and Chairman, Department of Economics, Bangalore
University, Bangalore, and Director of the UGC Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion
and Inclusive Policy, India. He is having more than 25 years of experience of teaching
and research at post-graduate level. To address the emerging economic issues, he
employs a mix of theoretical and empirical methods. At present, he is engaged in
research on economic integration, dynamic open-economy models with nominal
rigidities, exchange rates and international financial crises, monetary policy in open
economies, fragility, civil society.
