This One Thing John 6: 1-14

You may think that you are too young to give or donatesomething. But it is not about how young or how old you are. Itis about your heart and willingness to give. In the Bible, thereis a story about a young boy who shared food not only withone or two people. He shared his food with more than 5,000people. Can you believe that?

Jesus and His followers went to a place not knowing thatmany people followed them. The people wanted to hear moreof Jesus' teachings. When it was almost time to eat, Andrew, one of Jesus' followers, noticed that they did not have anyfood to feed the crowd. "These people need to go," he said.Jesus had another idea. Rather than let them go, He askedAndrew if they had any food with them.

There was a littleboy in the crowd whostood up and said, "Sir, Ihave food here, two fishand five pieces of bread. This is all I have."

Jesus said, "Tell the people to sit down." There were morethan 5,000 people there. Jesus prayed for the food and gavethanks to God. Jesus' followers gave the bread and fish to thepoeple who were sitting there. They ate so much as theywanted.

The people had plenty to eat. When they had finished,Jesus told his followers to gather the pieces of fish and breadthat were left over so that no food would wasted. They gatherup 12 large baskets full of leftover bread and fish.

That ONE Thing. What a wonderful act of kindness the boyshowed! He only had a little food with him, but he did not keepit for himself. He shared it with more than 5,000 people whowhere there. Remember, everyone, no matter how old, has somethingthey can give.

Rise

It's not easy to save and give. The reason you save is becauseyou want to do something for yourself or buy something later. But,if you want to help your neighbor so things will be different, youneed to ask for God's help so that giving becomes easier for you. Start with a prayer. Think of someone or some people in yourneighborhood that you could help. Prayer can be start of givingsomeone your help.
