My Name

• Named for its black and yellow striped tail, the tiger tail

seahorse.• My name comes from the Tiger because we have similar

like patterns tha go along my tail.

Physical traits• I come in many different colors, mainly yellow with

black stripes going across my back and tail. Sometime I

am black with yellow stripes just as well.

• I have a upright posture, with a curved trunk and a

gasping tail.• The maximum size I can grow up to is 18.7cm.

• My snout stretches about 2.2 in head length.

Habitat

• I am the Seahorses, I'm mainly found in shallow tropical

and warm water in north and south America, But mainly

throughout the world.

• I Prefer to live in sheltered areas such as sea grass

beds, estuaries, coral reefs, or mangroves.

• I don’t like going to deep into the ocean, I try to stay

around 20 meters deep.

Diet and feeding

• I eat a lot of smaller fish.

• My second favorite thing to eat is coral.

• But smaller shrimps and plankton I also enjoy.

Predators of mine• Sharks and squid tuna love to use me as a snack.• Rays and tuna also think I am a tasty apatite. • Sometimes if a crab get ahold of me, they end up eating me too /:

• The penguins are my most treat, there's no telling when I penguin is going to dive into the water at a rocket speed and snatch me and the group I'm with.

Protection I Use• The protection I use from my enemy's is simply camouflage into the scenery behind me.

• I wrap my tail around coal and blend with the coral to he best of my ability.• There's not many talents I have to use against my prey. But I survive each day to the best o my ability.

Adaptions For Survival In The Ocean Environment

• The seashores has mobile eyes, help me look out for

predators without moving my body.

• Helps me hide seaweed to escape from predators.

Is The Tiger-Tail Seahorse endangered or Threatened• Yes, tiger-tail seahorses are endanger.• Because people are fishing them and capturing them for pets.

• Doctors are also capturing and using me for medical resource information.

Reduction Information• The male, rather than the female seahorse that

becomes “pregnant”.• The female depositing the eggs into a specialized brood

pouch at the base of he males tail• Fertilized and then protected and nourished for the

development.

Threats• The tiger tail seahorse faces a number of threats,

including capture for use in traditional Chinese medicine, as a curio.

Fascinating Facts• Seahorses are masters of camouflage, and are able to

change color or possibly even grow skin filaments over time to better blend in with the surroundings.• Rapid, short-term color changes can also occur during

courtship or other social interactions.

More Interesting Facts• Small• Don’t Swim well• Oddly shaped
