I Am Always With YouI am always with you,

When I am gone, release me, let me go.I have so many things to see and so,

You mustn’t tie yourselfTo me with too many tears,

But be thankful we had so many good years.I gave you my love, and you can only guess,

How much you’ve given me in happiness.I thank you for the loveThat you have shown.

But now it is time I traveled on alone. So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must,

Then let your grief be comforted by trust,That it is only for a while that we must part,So treasure the memories within your heart.

I won’t be far away for life goes on.And if you need me, call and I will come.

Thou you can’t see me or touch me,I will be near.

And if you listen with your heart,You’ll hear all my love

Around you soft and clear,And then, when you come this way alone,

I’ll greet you with a smile and a say,“Welcome Home.”vvvvvvvvvvvv

The Obituary Honor thy father and thy mother that those days may be long upon he land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. ~ Exodus 20: 12

The soul of James Edward Buie (aka Nuncy or Red), departed this earth on October 24, 2017 in Charlotte, NC. He and all who knew him were blessed by his more than ninety-nine years on earth. James was born on April 23, 1918 to the late Edward (Ed) and Pauline Terry Buie. His seven siblings, Mamie McRae, Willie Blue, Annie McAllister, Olivia Shaw, Tony Buie, Paul Buie and Pearlie McNeill all preceded him in death. James attended and supported many churches during his lifetime, but McLauchlin Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church always held a special place in his heart. There he confessed Christ while attending with his parents. James was married to the late Thelma Hoyle who brought to the union a daughter, Mary Lee (deceased) who loved as his own. Educated in Hoke County Public Schools, James honorably served his country with the United States Army and was among the first Blacks to become a member of a New York based Trade Union. He spent much of his retirement outdoors, landscaping and fishing. Among the many who were inspired by his love and loyalty, laughed at his jokes and humorous tales, benefited from his generosity and unselfishness and will always be grateful for his presence in their lives are: grandsons, Leon (Andrea) Williams of Charlotte, NC and John Williams of Brooklyn, NY; nephews. Willie Herman McNeill of Raeford, NC, Paul Edwards (Thelma) Buie of Bayside, NY and Larry James (Sabrina) Buie of Queens Village, NY; nieces, Delilah Lawrence of Lansing, MI, Gloria Buie Virgil of Raeford, NC, Barbara Buie of Raeford, NC and Concetta Buie of Laurelton, NY; many great nephews, nieces, great-great nephews and nieces, cousins and special friends.
