Overview & ArchitectureHytera’s SCADA solution combined with the radio transmission allows SCADA and data transmission of any type of infor-mation via the narrowband Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) system – independent of the connected equipment or used SCADA software applications used on the customer’s side.

Transmitting your data via your DMR radio system instead of line connections allows to reach regions where it is too difficult or expensive to install/operate line connections. Providing standardized interfaces for connecting RTUs both via serial (RS232/RS485) or IP connections – and even the combination of both, offering support for various types of RTUs.

SCADA is the acronym of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition and describes computer-aided systems for collecting and analyzing data in nearly real time. Based on this data, SCADA systems are also used for (automatically) controlling equipment.

Thanks to its TDMA (Time-division multiple access) channel access method, DMR radio systems are ideally suitable for using voice and data communications in parallel and using your assigned frequencies efficiently. Any traffic channel can be configured as dedicated SCADA data transmission channel according to the actual capacity needs.

Up to two RTUs can be connected via serial and/or IP connection to the SCADA Modem DTM-6000 on customer premises. Via the DMR radio system the SCADA data are transmitted to the SCADA gateway, connected to the customer’s SCADA software applications.
