What is Blood Pressure
Blood pressure rise with the each heartbeat and falls when our heart relaxes. It allows blood to circulate throughout our bodies.

How is High Blood Pressure Diagnosed?
Your doctor wraps an inflatable cuff with a pressure gauge around your upper arm to squeeze the blood vessels.
He listens to your pulse with a stethoscope while releasing air from the cuff. The gauge measures the pressure in the blood vessels when the heart beats.
Blood Pressure Numbers/ What do they mean?
Normal Blood Pressure:Less than 130/85
BP rises and falls during the day
BP of Systolic 130-139 and Diastolic 85-89 need monitoring
High Blood Pressure:Greater than 140/90 and BP stays high all the time.
140/90 or higher
BP is considered high if greater than 130/80 in people with diabetes, heart disease, or who have had a stroke.
