We designed the Thermo Scientific™ HyPerforma™ Single-Use

Bioreactor (S.U.B.) tank to provide enhanced functionality, ease of use,

and efficiency while maintaining interoperability with any controller on

the market today.

The original

Functional and scalableOur Single-Use Bioreactor was the industry’s first single-use stirred-tank bioreactor. The HyPerforma S.U.B. equipment and Thermo Scientific™ BioProcess Container (BPC) system are designed using traditional stainless steel bioreactor principles to helps ensure optimal cell culture performance.

The complete line of HyPerforma S.U.B.s includes50, 100, 250, 500, 1,000, and 2,000 L sizes with a 2:1 turndown ratio that ensures consistent scalability for final production.

Tank design

Refined and elegant The S.U.B. tank has been redesigned to provide increased functionality and is refined for cGMP requirements. The S.U.B. tank provides enhanced operator ergonomics, reduced footprint and improved cleaning capabilities that come from an open cart frame.

• Easier access to harvest lines with the open frame design

• Reduce hold-up volumes with the redesigned tank floor

• Simplified bag loading with a vertical access door (available on 500 and 1,000 L sizes; pneumatic hoist provided on 2,000 L S.U.B.)

Performance enhancements

Efficient and proficientThe water jacket and resistive heater design allows faster heat up and cool down times, reducing process cycle time. Optional precision load cells and standard sight volume indicators allow you to keep your processes running efficiently.

• Brushless DC motor includes encoder feedback for improved RPM accuracy and is GFCI-compatible

• Upgraded resistive heater provides 2.25 watts for faster heat up time

• Bottom heater on resistive and water-jacketed systems increase heat transfer surface area

• 3/8” dimple jacket improves flow rate through the water jacket for higher performance temperature control

• Optional precision load cells monitor mass/ volume accurately

• Graduated sight volume indicators accommodate visual volume references at a glance

• Dedicated adjustable tool holder keeps necessary tools available for convenience and ease

• Load cell lockout clamps maneuver the S.U.B. easily utilizing a tri-clamp device

• Universal filter bracket easily adjusts to various heights and positions on the vessel and facilitates single or dual filters in either 6 in. and/or 10 in. filter sizes.

Additional options available• Cable management system provides greater organization

for electrical cables, tubing, and line sets while making the unit easier to clean

The controller

Adaptable and choiceThe HyPerforma S.U.B. offers a choice of control systems in either an open architecture or turnkey system. An open architecture system allows you to integrate with any control system of choice. Capital investment can be reduced by utilizing a control system already in use in your facility. A turnkey system is a ready-to-use, out-of-the-box system with a choice of a Finesse™ or Applikon™ dedicated controller. These systems work on PC, Delta V™, Allen-Bradley™, or Siemens™ software platforms.

Quality and performanceThermo Scientific™ BioProcess Containers (BPCs) will address your specific applications with either standard or customized configurations. They are also validated and interchangeable with your S.U.B. The standard designs are configured for a variety of applications, while the custom designs are for customer-specific applications.

We will build what you need, while maintaining our quality and delivery times. Through our open architecture approach, we have qualified a variety of single-use sensors, tubing, and connectors for customer design flexibility.
