THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THINGS COME OUT OF RESPECT FOR HARMONIC RELATIONSHIPS.

Among my favorite creative minds is Iannis Xe-nakis the late architect, mathmetician, and com-poser; a person whose revolutionary interweaving of space and sound on a foundation constructed from mathematics has been paramount to my scholastic understanding of spatial relationships, perceptions, and recognition.

Hyperbolic Parabaloids exploits ancient harmonic ratios to build elegantly sweeping curves from sequentially generated straight elements, thus transposing the concept for a melody from an au-ditory to a visual experience.

FORM GENERATION

USING THE GRASSHOPPER PLUGIN FOR RHINO 4.0, I CREATED A SERIES OF POINTS ALONG AN IMAGINARY CUBE. THE SOFTWARE ALLOWS INSTANTANEOUS MANIPULATION OF INPUTS THROUGH THE USE OF SLIDERS WHICH I SET UP TO INFLUENCE SUCH PARAMETERS AS LENGTH OF POLYGON SIDES (I.E. HARMONIC RATIOS), MATERIAL THICKNESS, AND PERIMETER OF POLY-GON.

WITH THIS PARTICULAR ALGORITHM, I CAN MA-NIPULATE FORM AND SCALE TO PRODUCE PIECES OF FURNITURE, SCULPTURES, AND ARCHITEC-TURAL BUILDING ELEMENTS GIVEN THE SAME BASE MODULE WITH JUST A FEW INFLUENTIAL PARAMETERS.
