D. ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE LISTED AND LABELED FOR THE QUALIFIED USE. CIRCUIT BREAKERINTERRUPT CAPACITY SHALL EQUAL OR EXCEED AVAILABLE FAULT CURRENT FROM UTILITY. SHORT CIRCUITRATINGS INDICATED ON SCHEDULES ARE FOR ESTIMATING PURPOSES ONLY, PROVIDE HIGHER RATINGS WHENREQUIRED BY UTILITY. AFTER INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE, BALANCE CIRCUIT LOADS EQUALLY (+/- 10%) ON ALLPHASES AT EACH PANEL.

E. AT THE TIME OF BIDDING, BIDDERS SHALL FAMILIARIZE THEMSELVES WITH THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS.ANY QUESTIONS, CONFLICTS, DELETIONS, AND DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN EQUIPMENT SUPPLIED AND THEINTENT OR FUNCTION OF THE EQUIPMENT, ETC. F. SEQUENCE, COORDINATE, AND INTEGRATE INSTALLATIONS OF ELECTRICAL MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT FOREFFICIENT FLOW OF THE WORK. GIVE PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO LARGE EQUIPMENT REQUIRING POSITIONINGPRIOR TO CLOSING-IN THE BUILDING. COORDINATE THE CUTTING AND PATCHING OF BUILDING COMPONENTS TOACCOMMODATE INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS. COORDINATE DELIVERY OFEQUIPMENT AND FIXTURES TO ACCOMMODATE THE PROJECT CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE.

G. PROVIDE A SEPARATE CODE SIZED GREEN EQUIPMENT GROUND CONDUCTOR IN ALL CONDUITS AND RACEWAYSCONTAINING LINE VOLTAGE CIRCUITS. FOR ALL 20A CIRCUITS, EQUIPMENT GROUND CONDUCTOR SIZE SHALLMATCH PHASE CONDUCTOR SIZE. FOR CIRCUITS UPSIZED FOR VOLTAGE DROP INCREASE EQUIPMENTGROUNDING CONDUCTOR SIZE PER CODE.

H. ALL CIRCUITS REQUIRE A DEDICATED NEUTRAL (GROUNDED CONDUCTOR) WHICH SHALL BE WHITE OR GRAY INCOLOR. NEUTRAL CONDUCTORS SHALL NOT BE SHARED FOR ANY WIRING UNLESS FOR SYSTEMS FURNITUREREQUIRING A SHARED NEUTRAL. PROVIDE HANDLE TIE BREAKERS FOR THESE INSTANCES.

I. PRIOR TO ROUGH-IN, VERIFY MOUNTING HEIGHTS AND FINAL LOCATIONS WITH ARCHITECTURAL DETAILS ANDVENDOR DRAWINGS. VERIFY ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, VOLTAGE, PHASE,AMPS, HP, KW, QUANTITY, ETC.) FOR ALL PROJECT SELECTED EQUIPMENT.

J. AREAS WHERE EXISTING CONCRETE SLAB IS TO BE CUT SHALL FIRST BE SCANNED WITH APPROPRIATEINSTRUMENTS TO DETERMINE THE PRESENCE OF ALL EXISTING UNDER FLOOR PIPING, CONDUIT, ETC. IF INNERSLAB PIPING OR CONDUIT IS DETECTED, THE AREA IS TO BE DEMOLISHED WITH HAND METHODS. PIPING ORCONDUIT CUT BY DEMOLITION ACTIVITY SHALL BE REPAIRED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.

K. IN ROOMS WITH ACOUSTICAL CEILING TILE, CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE THE INSTALLATION OF CEILINGMOUNTED ELECTRICAL, HVAC, FIRE ALARM AND SPRINKLER DEVICES SO ONLY ONE DEVICE EXISTS PER CEILINGTILE; CENTERED WITHIN TILE.

L. ALL ELECTRICAL PENETRATIONS AT FIRE-RATED ASSEMBLIES SHALL BE THROUGH U.L. LISTEDNON-COMBUSTIBLE SLEEVES OR CONDUITS THAT ARE SECURELY FIRE-CAULKED AND SEALED IN PLACE AS A U.L.LISTED ASSEMBLY. JUNCTION BOXES WITHIN EITHER FACE OF FIRE-RATED WALLS SHALL BE FIRE-RATED ORHAVE A MINIMUM 24" CLEARANCE FROM EACH OTHER TYPICAL.

M. CONTRACTOR SHALL CAREFULLY INVESTIGATE STRUCTURAL CONDITIONS, WALL AND CHASE LOCATIONS ANDROOM FINISHES AND MAKE ACTUAL MEASUREMENTS ON THE JOB SO THAT ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SUCHAS PANELBOARDS, SWITCHES, RECEPTACLES, LIGHTING FIXTURES, FIRE ALARM STATIONS, HORNS,ANNUNCIATORS, CONDUITS AND ACCESSORIES SHALL HAVE ADEQUATE CLEARANCES AS REQUIRED BY NECAND BY THE MANUFACTURER'S REQUIRED INSTALLATION PRACTICES. ALL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE CONNECTED INA WAY THAT ALLOWS AMPLE MAINTENANCE SPACE AND PASSAGE SPACE. DO NOT ROUTE PIPING, DUCTWORK,ETC. ABOVE ELECTRICAL PANELS.

N. THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COOPERATE CLOSELY WITH ALL OTHER TRADES TO EXPEDITECONSTRUCTION AND AVOID INTERFERENCES AND CONFLICTS. BEFORE ANY PIPING, DUCTWORK, CONDUIT, ETC.IS INSTALLED, IT SHALL BE COORDINATED CAREFULLY BETWEEN ALL TRADES.

O. FOR ALL WALL TYPES, REFER TO ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS.

P. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR TO PROPERLY SEAL ALL EXTERIOR RACEWAYS & CONDUITS TO PREVENT THEINFILTRATION OF WATER INTO THE ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM.

R. TYPE MC CABLE, IF USED, SHALL CONFORM TO THE INSTALLATION STANDARDS SET FORTH IN THE NATIONALARMORED CABLE MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION (NACMA); INSTALLATION STANDARD FOR TYPE AC & TYPE MCARMORED CABLES, IN ADDITION TO ALL APPLICABLE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE (NEC), UNDERWRITERSLABORATORY (UL) AND MUNICIPAL CODE REQUIREMENTS. SEE SPECIFICATIONS FOR SPECIFIC CABLEREQUIREMENTS. IN AREAS WHERE 0-10V DIMMING CONTROL IS REQUIRED THE POWER AND CONTROL CIRCUITSSHALL BE PROVIDED UNDER A SINGLE INTERLOCKED ARMOR. ALL POWER CONDUCTORS SHALL BE STRANDEDTHHN/THWN COPPER CONDUCTORS.

S. ROOF PENETRATIONS SHALL COMPLY WITH "SMACNA" AND "NRCA" STANDARDS AND WITH THE REQUIREMENTSOF THE EXISTING ROOFING WARRANTY, IF APPLICABLE. DO NOT PERFORM ROOFING PENETRATIONS IN AMANNER WHICH WOULD VOID OR OTHERWISE LIMIT THE EXISTING ROOFING WARRANTY.

T. THERE SHALL BE NO NOTCHING OF ANY FRAMING LUMBER, STUDS, JOISTS, RAFTERS, ETC. DRILLED HOLES MUSTNOT EXCEED 150 PERCENT OF THE PIPE SIZE. BORED HOLES SEE NEC ARTICLE 300-4(A)(1).

U. WHEN CONDUIT EXTENDS VERTICALLY THROUGH A PAVED OR CONCRETE SURFACE, A SLEEVE SHALL BEPLACED AROUND THE CONDUIT TO PREVENT DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE PAVED OR CONCRETE SURFACE TOHELP PREVENT DAMAGE CAUSED BY GROUND MOVEMENT.

V. UPDATE THE AS-BUILT DRAWING SET DAILY WITH JOB PROGRESS. SEE SPECIFICATION SECTION 16010, 3.04RECORD DRAWINGS FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

W. ALL BRANCH CIRCUIT NEUTRAL & GROUND CONDUCTORS SHALL BE GROUPED IN ELECTRIC PANEL(S) ANDWIREWAY(S) WITH THE CORRESPONDING BRANCH CIRCUIT CONDUCTOR(S) THROUGH THE USE OF NYLON-TYPETIE WRAPS OR APPROVED ELECTRICAL TAPE.

X. PRIOR TO COMPLETION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE FACILITY ALL INSTALLED SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND RELATEDITEMS SHALL BE TESTED AND OPERATED IN PLACE ON SITE. REPLACE ANY AND ALL CONTRACTOR-SUPPLIEDDEFECTIVE DEVICES, ITEMS OR SYSTEMS AT CONTRACTORS OWN EXPENSE BEFORE COMPLETION OF THEPROJECT. VERIFY CORRECT ROTATION OF ALL 3-PHASE MOTORS. GENERAL ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION NOTES

1. THE GENERAL NOTES SHALL BE PART OF THIS ENTIRE DOCUMENT PACKAGE AND ARE PART OF THE CONTRACTDOCUMENTS. THE GENERAL NOTES ARE REFERENCED HEREIN AND ARE TO BE REFERRED TO BY THECONTRACTOR. THE CONTRACTOR IS TO FAMILIARIZE HIMSELF AND ACKNOWLEDGES HIS FAMILIARITY WITH ALLTHE GENERAL NOTES AS WELL AS ANY AND ALL DRAWING SHEET SPECIFIC NOTES BELOW.

2. ALL DRAWINGS ARE SCHEMATIC IN NATURE AND THE REQUIRED INSTALLATION IS NOT LIMITED TO WHAT ISSHOWN. ALL APPURTENANCES NECESSARY TO PROVIDE A COMPLETE AND OPERATIONAL SYSTEM MUST BEINCLUDED IN THE CONTRACTOR'S ORIGINAL BID.

3. NO WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED PRIOR TO REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF ALL REQUIRED SHOP DRAWINGS,PRODUCT MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT SUBMITTALS. ANY WORK INSTALLED PRIOR TO MEETING THESEREQUIREMENTS SHALL BE REMOVED BY CONTRACTOR WHERE DIRECTED BY CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR.

4. LOCATION OF EXISTING AND PROPOSED SERVICES SHOWN ARE APPROXIMATE AND MUST BE CONFIRMEDINDEPENDENTLY BY THE CONTRACTOR WITH THE UTILITY COMPANIES PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OFCONSTRUCTION. IF DISCREPANCIES EXIST, NOTIFY THE ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY IN WRITING.

5. UNSUITABLE MATERIAL, CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS, EXCESS SOILS, ETC. SHALL BE PROPERLY REMOVED &DISPOSED OF OFF-SITE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE CODES, ORDINANCES & LAWS.

6. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE TO TAKE EROSION CONTROL MEASURES NECESSARY IN ACCORDANCE WITHLOCAL GUIDELINES FOR URBAN EROSION & SEDIMENT CONTROL TO PREVENT SEDIMENT AND/OR LOOSE DEBRISFROM WASHING ONTO ADJACENT PROPERTIES FOR ALL UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION AND TRENCHINGACTIVITIES.

7. ALL SIDEWALKS, CURBS, AND PAVEMENT DAMAGED BY THE ELCTRICAL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES SHALL BEREPAIRED OR REPLACED BY THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR, WHETHER SPECIFIED ON THIS PLAN OR NOT.

8. CHRISTOPHER KIDD AND ASSOCIATES IS NOT RETAINED BY ANY PARTY FOR JOB SITE SAFETY OR AS ACONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION CONTRACTOR, NOR IS THE ENGINEER OF RECORD FOR THE SAME. CONTRACTORSHALL PERFORM ALL ITS ACTIVITIES IN A SYSTEMATIC AND SAFE MANNER IN ACCORDANCE WITH OSHAREQUIREMENTS, AND ANY CODES, RULES, REGULATIONS, AND OR LAWS OF THE APPLICABLE GOVERNINGJURISDICTIONS TO ENSURE THE PROTECTION AND SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC AND THE JOB SITE.

9. THE DRAWINGS REPRESENT THE BEST INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO THE ENGINEER. ALL DIMENSIONS AND SIZESSHALL BE FIELD VERIFIED. DO NOT SCALE FROM DRAWINGS. SMALL DEVIATIONS BETWEEN THE DRAWINGS ANDACTUAL CONDITIONS ENCOUNTERED SHALL BE RECONCILED DURING THE PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK ANDSHALL NOT CONSTITUTE REASON FOR ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION TO THE CONTRACTOR. NOTIFY THECONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR IF ACTUAL CONDITIONS DEVIATE SUBSTANTIALLY FROM THOSE INDICATED ON THEDRAWINGS. CONTACT THE ENGINEER OF RECORD WITH ANY NEED FOR ADDITIONAL DIMENSIONS ORCLARIFICATIONS.

10. THE ENGINEER OF RECORD SHALL NOT SUPERVISE, DIRECT OR HAVE CONTROL OVER THE CONTRACTOR'S WORKNOR HAVE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES ORPROCEDURES SELECTED NEITHER BY THE CONTRACTOR NOR FOR THE CONTRACTOR'S SAFETY PRECAUTIONSOR PROGRAMS IN CONNECTION WITH THE WORK. THESE RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE SOLELY THOSE OFTHE CONTRACTOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.

11. THE ENGINEER OF RECORD SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF THE CONTRACTOR,SUBCONTRACTOR, AND ANY ENTITY PERFORMING ANY PORTIONS OF THE WORK, OR ANY AGENTS OREMPLOYEES OF ANY OF THEM.

12. THE ENGINEER OF RECORD DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CONTRACTOR AND SHALL NOTBE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTRACTOR'S FAILURE TO PERFORM ITS WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THECONTRACT DOCUMENTS OR ANY APPLICABLE LAWS, CODES, RULES OR REGULATIONS.

13. PRIOR TO STARTING ANY CONSTRUCTION RELATED ACTIVITIES, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE THAT ANY ANDALL PERMITS AND APPROVALS HAVE BEEN OBTAINED, AND/OR WILL OBTAIN THOSE THAT ARE TO BE OBTAINEDDURING CONSTRUCTION, BY AND OR FROM THE APPROPRIATE GOVERNING JURISDICTIONS‘ LEGALREQUIREMENTS. CONTRACTOR WILL ALSO RENEW ANY SUCH PERMITS. THE CONTRACTOR ASSUMES ALL RISKASSOCIATED WITH THE COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION WITHOUT SATISFYING ALL OF THE LEGALREQUIREMENTS.

14. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY COSTS, DAMAGES, LOSSES AND EXPENSES ARISING OUT OF THEVIOLATION OF ANY SUCH LEGAL REQUIREMENTS BY THE CONTRACTOR, ANY SUBCONTRACTORS OR ANYONE FORWHOM THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INDEMNIFY, DEFEND AND SAVE HARMLESSTHE OWNER AND CHRISTOPHER KIDD AND ASSOCIATES AND THE ENGINEER OF RECORD FROM AND AGAINST ANYSUCH COSTS, DAMAGES, LOSSES AND EXPENSES, INCLUDING REASONABLE ATTORNEY FEES ANDDISBURSEMENTS, ATTRIBUTABLE TO ANY SUCH VIOLATION OR NONCOMPLIANCE BY CONTRACTOR OR ANYSUBCONTRACTOR, AS WELL AS ANY DELAY IN THE COMPLETION OF THE WORK. NO CONSTRUCTION RELATEDACTIVITIES SHOULD COMMENCE UNTIL THE CONTRACTOR HAS THOROUGHLY REVIEWED THE ENTIRE CONTRACTDOCUMENTS AND THOROUGHLY REVIEWED THE APPROVALS AND PERMITS OBTAINED FROM THE APPROPRIATEGOVERNING JURISDICTIONS. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ALL SUCH PERMITS AND APPROVALS AT THE JOBSITE AT ALL TIMES AND MAKE SAME AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.

15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE FAMILIAR WITH AND SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROCUREMENT ANDSCHEDULING OF ANY AND ALL CERTIFICATIONS, TESTING, INSPECTIONS, ETC., INCLUDING THOSE THAT SHALL BEPERFORMED BY THIRD PARTIES, REQUIRED BY THE APPROPRIATE GOVERNING JURISDICTIONS DURING THECOURSE OF CONSTRUCTION OR FOR THE PURPOSES OF PROCURING SIGNOFFS, CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETIONSOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY. IF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS OR ANY LAWS, RULES, ORDINANCES ORREGULATIONS OF ANY FEDERAL, STATE OR LOCAL GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION OVERTHE WORK REQUIRE THAT ANY WORK BE INSPECTED OR TESTED, CONTRACTOR SHALL GIVE SUCH GOVERNINGENTITIES TIMELY NOTICE OF READINESS OF THE WORK FOR INSPECTION OR TESTING, COORDINATE AND FIX THEDATE FOR SUCH INSPECTION OR TESTING BY SUCH JURISDICTIONAL ENTITIES AND PROCURE THE NECESSARYMEANS TO HAVE SUCH INSPECTION OR TESTING PERFORMED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE GOVERNINGJURISDICTIONAL ENTITIES.

16. WHEN CONSTRUCTION TAKES PLACE DURING BUSINESS HOURS, ADEQUATE PROVISION SHALL BE MADE FOR THESAFETY AND COMFORT OF OCCUPANTS. TEMPORARY SOUND BARRIERS SHALL BE PROVIDED WHERE INTENSEPROLONGED CONSTRUCTION NOISES WILL DISTURB BUILDING OCCUPANTS IN THE OCCUPIED PORTIONS OF THEBUILDING DURING BUSINESS HOURS.

17. WHEN CONSTRUCTION IS DONE AFTER HOURS OR ON WEEKENDS, THE FACILITY SHALL ASSURE THAT ALL AREASOF CONSTRUCTION ARE CLEANED THOROUGHLY AND A CLEAN SAFE ENVIRONMENT IS PROVIDED BEFORE STARTOF NEXT BUSINESS DAY.

18. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO OBTAIN CLARIFICATION OF AN APPARENT CONFLICT ORINCONSISTENCY IN THE DRAWINGS, SPECIFICATIONS OR DESIGN PRIOR TO THEIR BID AND IN WIRING TO THEENGINEER. OTHERWISE, THE CONTRACTOR ACCEPTS RESPONSIBILITY TO CORRECT (AT HIS COST) ANY SUCHITEMS TO MEET THE INTENT AS INTERPRETED BY THE ENGINEER.

19. ALL DEVICE BACK BOXES TO BE MOUNTED FLUSH TO THE FINISH SURFACE AND PERPENDICULAR TO TO FINISHWALLS AND CEILING SURFACES USING STANDARD UL LISTED ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLIES AND ASSOCIATEDHARDWARE. ANY 'CUT-IN' STYLE BOXES USED IN REMODELING SITUATIONS SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH THEMOUNTING EARS FLUSH TO THE WALL SURFACE SO THE FINISH DEVICE SITS FLUSH TO THE WALL SURFACE.

20. MINOR ITEMS OF WORK SUCH AS CUTTING, BLOCKING, TRIM, ETC., SHALL BE PERFORMED AS REQUIRED TO MAKETHE WORK COMPLETE AND SECURE WHETHER SHOWN OR NOTED ON THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS OR NOT.

21. NOTIFY AND COORDINATE WITH OWNER BEFORE USING ANY VOLATILE OR FUME PRODUCING COMPOUNDS SUCHAS DUCT SEALANT, CLEANING FLUIDS AND INSULATION GLUE. PROVIDE MEANS OF TEMPORARY VENTILATION.

22. CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR ALL DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING, FIXTURES AND FINISHES CAUSED BY CONTRACTORDURING THE PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK. REPAIRS SHALL BE PERFORMED BY QUALIFIED TRADESMEN ANDSHALL BE COMPLETED IN A MANNER ACCEPTABLE TO THE CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR.

23. WORK CALLED FOR IN THE SPECIFICATIONS, BUT NOT SHOWN ON THE DRAWING IN THEIR PRESENT FORM ORVICE VERSA, AND WORK NOT SPECIFIED IN EITHER THE CONTRACT SPECIFICATIONS OF DRAWINGS BUT INVOLVEDIN CARRYING OUT THEIR INTENT OR NECESSARY TO COMPLETE AND PROPERLY EXECUTE THE WORK ISREQUIRED AND SHALL BE PERFORMED AS THOUGH IT WERE SPECIFICALLY OUTLINED OR DESCRIBED.

24. WHERE JOB CONDITIONS REQUIRE CHANGES FROM THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS THAT DO NOT CHANGE THESCOPE OF INSTALLATION OR NATURE OF WORK REQUIRED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE SUCH CHANGESWITHOUT ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER. NO OTHER CHANGES MAY BE MADE WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSIONOF THE OWNER. PROVIDE ALL CONDUIT OFFSETS AND MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS REQUIRED TO COORDINATEWITH BUILDING COMPONENTS AND WORK OF OTHER TRADES.
