MX-3010F – Four Channel Camera Fibre Link System
Product Overview The MX-3010F Four Channel Camera Fiber Link Multiplexer is the latest addition to the
Stratos video product line. It enables the user to connect up to 4 SMPTE 311M
interfaced broadcast cameras and to multiplex them over one Single Mode Fiber (SMF).
These bi-directional camera channels accomplishes video, CCU control, audio, talley
telecom, and return video all over a single fiber.
The system consists of two multiplex / de-multiplex units, one for connection to the
camera and the other for connection to the associated Camera Control Units. The
electrical connection types available are SMPTE 304M or Stratos’ own HX1080
expanded beam technology. The optical link between these two units is either “SC” or
“ST” terminated single mode fibre.
MX-3010F System Benefits include the ability to extend the camera optical connection
range to more than 20km. The MX-3010F utilizes standard SMPTE Electrical Emulating
technology when local power is provided to the cameras. Thus, eliminating multiple
cable runs and distance restriction associated with HD production. It also cuts rigging
time in half and reduces overall vehicle transport weight.
Standard features include Redundant Power Supplies, Front Panel Indicator LEDs and
Digital Diagnostic Monitoring Interface read out via Ethernet 10/100T compliant web
enabled port.
• Multiplex up to 4 SMPTE 311M Fibre Camera Link Channels

LX-8000 Series SMPTE Emulator Box
Product Overview
The LX-8000 Series SMPTE Emulator Box is the latest addition to the Stratos video
product line. It enables the user to connect a SMPTE fiber equipped camera with
hybrid wire/fiber cable, and convert it to a low cost single mode fiber. By utilizing
SMPTE Electrical Interface Technology you can effectively eliminate a majority of your
Bulky Hybrid cable runs.
The LX Box Series consist of a number of different connector style adaptor options. From any SMPTE 304m compliant plug/jack or the Stratos HX-1080 expanded beam connector to an optional ‘ST’ or ‘SC’ fiber connection. Each emulator pair performs two functions. The first is to allow bi-directional communication, with the full capabilities of a standard HD or SD fiber camera link protocol. The second is to provide the appropriate power and Connection sensing vital to proper operation.
Camera Power Options
The LX-8000 Product Family Offers a number of options for powering your camera.
The most common for single or multi camera operation is local power via AC supply or
by camera battery. The second is the LX-8000p which is provisioned to offer future
options, which provide the appropriate Power to the camera based on manufacturers
specifications.

The Stratos HX-1080 Series
Connectors provide robust field
deployable, high performance
expanded beam solutions for HD &
SD Broadcast applications.
In the event of connector or cable
damage due to abuse or misfortune,
rapid cost effective and de-skilled field
re-instatement is a must to support the
successful deployment of any hybrid
fibre/electrical broadcast cabling solution.
To complement the Stratos HX1080
connector products unique repair/install
solutions are available. Typically three
scenarios challenge field deployment.
(1) Connector failure, (2) Cable failure
and (3) miscalculations of cable lengths
for fixed installations. Stratos provides
three strategies to deal with each
providing a measured balance between
cost, adaptability and performance for
each.
(1) With factory certified Temporary
Repair Patchcords (TRP) (a HX-1080 to
LX-1080(1) assembly), rapid de-skill
repairs using common LC technology are
effected in minutes. Half the work is
already done, the field work is little more
than the use of regular fibre optic pot
and polish techniques. Stratos can even
offer training courses for those new to
the job. TRPs are used either as a
permanent repair or temporary re-
instatement in which case the TRP can be
reused should misfortune strike again.
(2) Using similar principles mid-stream
cable repair can also be achieved
quickly and effectively through the use
of a factory terminated LX1080/LX1080
cord. This method even allows short
damaged lengths of cable to be
removed entirely.
(3) The frustrations of permanent
installs without storing excessive cable
over-lengths are eased by the freedom
to easily terminate on site once the
cable has been ideally routed. To
enable this while exploiting the benefits
of the HX-1080 expanded beam
interface, Stratos has designed a
unique optical feedthrough bulkhead
with standard LC pot/polish connections
on the rear, a de-skilled on-site
terminated LX-1080.
Low skilled, cost effective and rapid
solutions available for all eventualities,
when the show must go on the Stratos
product portfolio makes its as easy as 1
2 3.
