SUMMER CAMP – More Information Below!
Please consider the Milestones testing schedule below when making doctor’s appointments for your student.
TALENT SHOW Would you like to see a comedy routine, martial arts exhibition, or tumbling act? Fabulous guitarists, singers, dancers, and pianists will be showcased. Come out and support the talented students of Hightower Trail! The Talent Show is Wednesday, March 28. See you there!
LOST AND FOUND – ARE YOU MISSING ANY ITEMS? The Lost and Found bins are overflowing! Please ask your student to check the Lost and Founds bins located near the bus port entrance. We make every effort to return items when we know whose they are; so please put your name in your clothes, shoes, lunchboxes, etc. Lost and found items will be donated to a local charity OVER SPRING BREAK!
PNC BANK – MAKE A DEPOSIT! A representative from PNC Bank, an HTMS Partner in Education, will be in the Atrium Friday, March 16, & 30 before school to accept deposits into your child’s PNC savings account. Start a life-long habit of savings. Make a deposit today!

GEORGIA PARENT SURVEY Parents, this survey is part of the State of Georgia evaluation criteria for the climate portion of the CCRPI score. We ask that you STOP AND TAKE A FEW MINUTES RIGHT NOW to complete this survey for Hightower Trail Middle School. The state requires a certain level of participation in the survey for HTMS to receive a satisfactory rating. Thank you for taking the time to complete this. We value your input.
The Georgia Parent Survey is modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone or tablet. For parents that do not have access to the internet, please contact a school administrator to schedule a date and time to complete the Georgia Parent Survey at HTMS. You are encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. Results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online.

HUSKY FOUNDATION SUMMER CAMP
Camp packets were distributed last week to 6th and 7th graders. 5th graders at our
feeder elementary schools will receive packets next week. Packets were not printed
for 8th graders; however, 8th graders are certainly welcome to attend! Click HERE for a

25¢ on the 25th – QUARTERS FOR A CAUSE
We ask our students to bring loose or rolled quarters on Friday, March 23 to donate into the grade level containers in the atrium from 8:45am-9:15am. The grade level to
contribute the most will receive 25 spirit points towards the end of year celebration. All donations made will count toward the total for each grade level.
WISH YOUR STUDENT A HAPPY BIRTHDAY ON THE SCHOOL SIGN! Want to wish your student a “Happy Birthday” on the HTMS sign? It’s easy and your child will love it! Just click HERE, log in to the PTSA website and complete the online form. You may pay online or bring a check to the school. The deadline is the 25th of the month PRIOR to the birthday month; however, you complete the form earlier than the month before and the message will run when you choose. The message will run all day on the child’s birthday (or other date you select), and makes for a great photo op!

8th GRADE – POPE ELECTIVE REGISTRATION – MARCH 19 In preparation of Elective Registration on Monday, March 19, we sent home a sample registration sheet.
Please choose 5 electives in rank order by numbering your choices 1 through 5. Please return these sheets with your student this Friday, March 16. We will review these with students to make sure everything runs smoothly on Monday, March 19. If you have questions feel free to contact Dr. Schmid at [email protected]. Representatives from Pope HS will be here on Monday to complete elective registration during your student’s GA Studies class. Thank you!
CHAMBER ORCHESTRA EARNS NATIONAL HONORS Congratulations to the HTMS Chamber Orchestra for being selected to perform for the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) National Orchestra Festival! This is an elite National Honor. HTMS was one of 8 middle school orchestras selected to perform. They gave a wonderful concert on March 9th and represented HTMS in a very professional manner at the conference.

Counseling Department News
BEHAVIORAL RATING SCALE FORMS FOR TEACHER INPUT All requests for teachers to complete rating scales or behavior scales for a student must go through the counseling department. Before a teacher can complete these scales, a release form must be completed with the name and address of the doctor. The forms will be sent directly to the requesting physician. Please allow up to two weeks for teachers to complete. For additional questions please contact your grade level counselor or call the counseling department at 770.578.7228.

Pope High School Presents: The Addams Family – A Musical Comedy
In the kooky, upside-down world of the Addams Family, to be sad is to be happy, to feel pain is to feel joy, and death and suffering are the stuff of their dreams. Nonetheless, this quirky family still must deal with many of the same challenges faced by any other family. The Addams kids are growing up. The Addams family has lived by their unique values for hundreds of years and Gomez and Morticia, the patriarch and matriarch of the clan, would be only too happy to continue living that way. Their dark, macabre, beloved daughter Wednesday, however, has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke, a sweet, smart boy from a normal, respectable Ohio family — the most un-Addams-sounding person one could be! And to make matters worse, Wednesday has invited the Beineke family to their home for dinner. In one fateful, hilarious night, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family must face up to the one horrible thing they’ve managed to avoid for generations: change. This show is rated PG. **Rising 9th graders to Pope will be given one complimentary ticket to the show.
