Dear R. B. Hunt Family,

If you were able to join us for the 60th Celebration, I know you had a great time! The weather was

perfect and all of the children and families seemed to really enjoy themselves. A huge event like this

only happens with the help of so many! Thank you to; Donna Aunchman, Dana Baker, Michael and Nancy

Birchall, Maria Carlson, Melinda Conlin, Susan Connor, Nancy Cubbedge, Kelly Eastman, Doris Flaherty,

Karen Fluman, Amy Gibbs, Emily and John Gordon, Jessica Hoffman, Shari Johnson, Rebecca Jones,

Sheri Lindsey, Amber Metych, Kathleen Mitchell-Anderson, Heather Mowrey, Aubrey Mulligan, Sandra

Oja-Dunaway, Jo Ellen Parkey, Janna Peskett, Rebecca Romaine, Kristin Thomas, Cathy White and our

super R. B. Hunt front office staff, school nurse and maintenance staff.

I have received emails from alums as far as Colorado who shared pictures and well wishes. I even got

to see my old principal, Mr. Stedman, who gave me my first teaching job at Nease High School. Mr.

Stedman was principal at Hunt for one year before he retired in 1986. He said he knew Hunt had a lady

principal, but he didn’t know it was me!

Thank you to Mrs. Knight for coordinating our National Junior Elementary Honor Society students to

complete their community service projects. Students provided schools tours during the 60th Celebra-

tion and helped with the “Bag It Up” program for Goodwill. Way to go NJEHS!

Bridget Herod, Keara McGee and Sammy Clark represented R. B. Hunt at the STEM Fair last Saturday

at Palencia Elementary. They showcased their science fair projects and enjoyed a morning of STEM

activities. Congratulations on being chosen to represent R. B. Hunt’s 5th Graders!

Thank you for sharing your feedback through the “testing” surveys. The district has received over ten

thousand survey responses. You will have the opportunity to share your comments relative to “testing”

by using a link on the St. Johns County School District webpage. This email link will be open through

Friday May 29th. Please take a minute to voice your opinions and concerns.

Wow! Check out all the Principal’s Million Word Club new additions on the back of the Catch-Up. All

Million Word Club students will be treated to an ice cream celebration on Thursday afternoon. You

have got until Wednesday to reach the million work mark and join in the fun!
