Week 8, Term 3 - 15 September 2017
Dear Parents and Carers
Our students capacity for joy continues to impress me. The wholehearted way in
which they participated in our Fun Run this morning was fantastic. What a
wonderful way to begin the day! Thank you to those families who have worked hard
raising money, this is one of our most successful fundraisers. Money is due to the
office by Wednesday 20 September.
A huge thank you to Lendlease who spent the day
yesterday beautifying the front of our school and building
two very popular teepee structures for our playground.
All goods and services were donated to the school by
Lendlease. A new school sign will be installed amongst
the plants shortly.
On Monday 18 September our School Council will be
consulting on our school mission and vision. The School
Council is our parent community representation. You do
not need to be part of council to attend this meeting and I encourage you come
along to have your say. The meeting commences at 5pm and is held in the
staffroom. The ideas and contributions gained from this meeting will be taken to
staff on our Pupil Free Day on Friday 13 October. As a result of these events the
school’s vision, mission and strategic plan will be developed for implementation in
2018.
Attendance at school is vital. Each missed day at school is associated with
progressively lower achievement in numeracy, writing and reading. There are no
safe number of days for missing school – each day a student misses puts them
behind, and can affect their educational outcomes.
Kind regards, Ali Brady, Acting Principal.
