It is body shape build to resemble the human body .In general these have a torso,two legs,two arms,head.Thus, it appears and behaves like human.

Karel capek coined the term “robot” 1921

After 1970 humanoid robots came into evolution

Waseda university first time created a Humanoid Robot in 1970(WABOT-1),and in 1980 WABOT-2

Then, ASIMO-Honda’s heavy hitterROBONAUT by NASA

WABOT-1: It can communicate in Japanese,can give directions,find objects,artificial ears ,mouth,eyes

WABOT-2: Play’s keyboard,can read sheet music and play it

ASIMO: can go upstairs, run’s 6kh/hr, play soccer, carry 1kg wt

ROBONAUT: wheel chaired, can carry 15kg wt, can work as colleague

Nowadays, humanoid robot researchers are focusing on bipedism more than they do in cognition

Stable and robust bipedal locomotion is still a good lab example

It is mandatory for researchers to have cognition for robots

We are in the pre-robotic era compared with the human evolution

In present days ASIMO and PETMAN are more competent robots
