The program builds a management skillset that is specifically applicable to the nonprofit arena and addresses the nonprofit world’s need for qualified leaders. UCLA Extension’s comprehensive Nonprofit Management Program examines the many different specialties within the nonprofit world, including religion, education, human services, public affairs, health, and arts, culture, and humanities. Our multidisciplinary approach allows students to build their knowledge in important areas of nonprofit management, such as fundraising, communications, business, public policy, and more.

Application Process The Nonprofit Management Certificate program is looking for qualified candidates who have a strong sense of their professional goals. Candidates should also possess good communication skills, the ability to think innovatively, a collaborative mentality, and good business sense.

• A minimum of one year of volunteer or paid experience in the nonprofit sector

• A professional résumé

• The completed application form

• One letter of recommendation

• The $165 candidacy fee

Nonprofit Management Course of Study*The certificate curriculum is constructed for new to mid-level nonprofit professionals. The course of study can help students enter into the world of nonprofit management or give them the tools to advance their existing careers. To earn a certificate, students complete just eight required courses. The sequence of courses is designed to help students be successful and complete the certificate as quickly as possible.
