What is the Telecommunications Industry Dialogue?• Launched in March 2013, the “Industry Dialogue” is a group of

telecommunications operators and vendors who jointly address freedom of expression and privacy rights in the context of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights

• Members include: Alcatel-Lucent, AT&T, Millicom, Nokia, Orange, Telefonica, Telenor Group, TeliaSonera, Vodafone Group

• ID created 10 Guiding Principles addressing freedom of expression (FoE) and privacy as they relate to telecoms sector

• Companies share best practices and tools for implementing the Guiding Principles in their company operations

• Collaboration with Global Network Initiative (GNI), a multistakeholder organization, aimed at finding a shared and practical approach to promoting freedom of expression and privacy around the world
