Today’s communication landscape is changing quickly. Voice communications alone cannot satisfy enterprise

requirements for staff interaction and information sharing, and data services are increasingly critical for

meeting strategic objectives.

Emergency response and public safety: � A single network with advanced technology providing both

traditional Private Mobile Radio (PMR) and broadband services, including images, data, and video, speeds

responses and saves lives.

Metro: � With the development of the metro industry, operators need faster, more efficient, and safer

travel, and passengers expect a more comfortable trip. Train-to-ground broadband networks providing

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Wi-Fi, Passenger Information System (PIS), and a Communication-Based

Train Control System (CBTC) carrier have become imperative.

Airport authorities and port areas: � Guaranteeing the quality of ground or yard services and minimizing

delays, through the delivery of simultaneous voice, data, and video, are urgently required to reduce

operating costs.

Other industries: � In oil and gas, the smart grid, and mining, smart data terminals are often dispersed

in remote areas where real-time wireless data acquisition and on-site video are more convenient and

effective than wired technology to ensure staff and product safety.

The Huawei eLTE solution is based on advanced LTE technology to provide professional broadband trunking,

data, video surveillance, and other broadband services on a single network with 100 Mbit/s throughput and

low-latency transmission. It enhances operational efficiency and safety and opens up a variety of services not

previously available.

professional services for enterprise, such as broadband trunking, video surveillance, data acquisition,

100 Mbit/s Multimedia Trunking, Dispatching Visualization

Today, narrow-band trunking is widely applied to enhance operational efficiency. But, due to a lack of broadband data capabilities, customers

must often deploy two sets of networks — one for voice services and one for data services. Huawei is the first telecommunications company

to combine voice and video dispatching on a single broadband network. For example, with the Huawei eLTE solution, the command enter

can dispatch police, firefighters, and medical personnel through voice trunking services to handle emergencies. At the same time, staff can

upload onsite videos to the command center, which the command center then forwards to all related group members, so they can actually

see the problem. This efficient visualized dispatching not only improves operational efficiency but also saves lives.

Professional Trunking Performance

The timeliness of voice delivery is one of the most critical resources for efficient dispatching. The Huawei eLTE solution provides a group call

setup time of < 300 ms and call pre-emptive time of < 150 ms to guarantee timely response for any critical situation.

Huawei’s eLTE solution offers a wide range of applications for professional voice and video trunking to accelerate response time.

GPS location tracking allows efficient tracking of workers, vehicles, and business assets to enhance safety and productivity. �

Remote deactivation can delete data from a device that has been lost or stolen to keep the information safe. �

Group Circling helps dispatch Adjacent available Resource as quickly as possible �

Dynamic Regrouping can combine multiple UEs with multiple static group calls �

E2E encryption encrypt the private call voice stream, and prevent eavesdropping on the sensitive communication. �

Multiband

Since many frequencies are allocated to mobile operators in scattered locations, it is important for industries to adapt to different frequencies.

Huawei eLTE provides a wide frequency menu, including LTE-TDD 400 MHz/1.4 GHz/1.8 GHz/2.3 GHz/3.5 GHz, and LTE-FDD 800 MHz for

a variety of markets. Users can select one or more frequency products, according to their specific needs. In some situations, Huawei can

customize the frequency for the customer.

Multi Backhaul for Flexible Networking

Usually, eLTE uses a fiber network for backhaul, but if there is no fiber network or if the fiber network is down, the eLTE network can also be

quickly deployed using several methods for backhaul.

The S1 interface (the interface between the base station and the core network) of eLTE supports transmission through:

Ruggedized Devices for Harsh Environment

Compared to the typical consumer market, industrial working conditions are harsh and complex. In compliance with IP67, most eLTE

solution devices deployed onsite are dust resistant and can be kept under one meter of water for at least 30 minutes. The devices is also

protected against drops to concrete since its, made to exceed MIL-STD-810G test specifications.

CN Geographical Redundancy

The core networks(CNs) was NE-level cold redundancy. And In case of regional disasters, the core network could switch from the standby

to active state within 3 minutes.

Open Architecture for Third-Party Devices and Applications

With the informatization trend, customers in each industry have deployed their own service-based management systems (such as incident

receiving and handling system, emergency command platform, and TOS) to improve dispatching efficiency. Huawei’s eLTE solution provides

a Software Development Kit (SDK) for incremental customization, which enables seamless integration between eLTE services and other

industry services. In this manner, dispatchers can initiate voice, video, and data services and perform dispatching on the existing system.

Huawei’s advanced handheld smart terminals, which run on the Android OS, also support incremental customization to match the industry

service system. In addition, the Mini-PCIe card can be used in other industry terminals to enable access to the eLTE system.

Exceptional Interoperation

To help customers reuse existing infrastructure and maximize return on prior investments, the eLTE trunking system can interoperate with

the following:

TETRA – Trans European Trunked Radio, a professional mobile radio and two-way transceiver (colloquially known as a walkie-talkie) specification. �

PSTN – Public Switched Telephone Network, the aggregate of the world’s circuit-switched telephone networks. �

PLMN – Public Land Mobile Network, which provides land mobile telecommunications services to the public. �

IPCC (IP Contact Center), supports cooperation multi-channel, expanding communication modes. �

Terminals in the eLTE trunking network can interconnect with PSTN, VOIP, TETRA, and eLTE for voice conference to improve collaboration. �

Carrier Handsets, after installing the application app, can also access the eLTE trunking network to perform the functions of VoIP, video, SMS, and GIS. �

Enhanced Video Trunking System

To improve operational efficiency and hasten decision-making, the eLTE trunking system also supports interconnection with the following:

IVS, or Intelligent Video Surveillance, a video surveillance solution with high definition and compatibility

Uploading of videos via wireless camera to the IVS system �

Acquisition of images or real-time videos by trunking terminals from IVS front-end cameras �

Telepresence, Video conferencing

Interoperation with Telepresence, the video conferencing system, that allows participants to feel as if they are present.

Videos uploaded by onsite staff can be forwarded to other terminals, as well as the telepresence system; therefore, video conference �

participants can also obtain the on-site condition.

EP820 with the telepresence client can access the video conference. �

Public safety Personnel in government or specialized sectors must often deploy two sets of networks — one for voice trunking and another for data services — to respond to a variety of incidents, from accidents to natural disasters. The Huawei eLTE solution combines the most powerful Mobile Broadband (MBB) solution and professional trunking to help simplify maintenance of the two networks. The eLTE solution helps Nanjing government improve departmental cooperation and emergency reaction response time and guarantees the 2013 Asian Youth Games and 2014 Youth Olympic Games to be successful. The solution not only instantly realizes a reliable, traditional PMR network, but it also incorporates broadband service delivery, including images, data, and video.

Metro Today, train passengers demand a better travel experience, and train operators must reduce costs while improving punctuality and safety. The Huawei eLTE solution provides reliable and continuous communications between control centers and trains to support multiple services, including PIS, video surveillance, trunking dispatching, CBTC, and broadband access service. Huawei has deployed the world’s first LTE metro application to provide train-to-ground voice, data, and video transmissions for Zhengzhou Metro in China.

Airport For airport authorities, guaranteeing the quality of ground services and ensuring that flights leave and arrive on time are critical for reducing operating costs. The Huawei eLTE solution is designed to fulfill these needs and has helped Xi’an airport build a reliable and comprehensive LTE network. The dispatch command can be distributed simultaneously via voice and text records with tailored terminals. In addition, the network also supports other ground handling services, such as load sheet and luggage information transmission, urgent communication for special vehicle management, and video or picture transmission for emergency situations.

Port Multiple wireless networks are built to help port operators improve cargo handling efficiency, reduce operating costs, and guarantee port safety; however, these networks introduce new challenges, such as limited coverage or complex maintenance procedures. To meet the demands and goals of a port enterprise, Huawei offers the eLTE solution. The network has been deployed in Yantai Port to provide instant communications and multiple broadband services, such as voice trunking, video surveillance, TOS and RCMS data, and Tally system.

Oil and gas Oil and gas fields are widely dispersed and face extremely harsh environments; therefore, reliable and economical communications are required. The Huawei eLTE solution provides ultra-long-distance coverage at 100 Mbit/s throughput with low latency. Huawei provided the first LTE network application in oil and gas fields in the North Atlantic Ocean (Norway), where it delivers broadband services within a 37 km radius offshore. The solution supports voice and video trunking, remote SCADA data transmission, on-site video transfer, and more, in a single network. This helps customers with massive data sharing and multidisciplinary collaboration opportunities ensure smooth operation and instant response.

Smart grid Power Distribution Automation (DA) and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) play important roles in smart grids. Omnipresent communications are indispensible for a power distribution network, especially in densely populated cities and rural areas; however, in these areas, deploying a wired network is quite challenging. Huawei eLTE is based on the most advanced technology and can be installed quickly. Huawei deployed the world’s first LTE application for the China Southern Power Grid in the large cities of the Zhuhai zone. It not only provides DA and AMI backhaul, but also provides value-added services such as broadband trunking, video surveillance, and mobile office.
