Why did OSPI develop the educational technology assessments?

OSPI must obtain or develop assessments for the Educational Technology Standards that are Designed to be classroom or

project-based Administered and scored by school

staff in elementary, middle and high school grades using consistent scoring criteria and procedures

OSPI must obtain or develop assessments for the Educational Technology Standards that are Available to school districts for

voluntary use by the end of the 2010 – 2011 school year

Districts using the assessments must report this use to OSPI beginning with the 2011 – 2012 including 2014-2015.

Cooking Up a Mystery (6 – 8): Use evidence from the lab and the Internet to identify a criminal suspect in a cooking contest and make safety improvements.
