Cheaper Petro-Chemical Processing Plants.
It is now well established that petro-chemical process
plants, built for use in remote areas such as the
Canadian oil sands or on the edge of the Caspian
Sea, can be produced more cheaply if constructed in
modules using existing shipbuilding facilities in the
developed world. This saves on building the process
plants on-site and the associated costs and
timescales.
The prefabricated modules could be loaded onto the
Hoverbarge at the shipyard and sent as a complete unit
via a semi submersible ship. The Hoverbarge would then
complete the journey unsuitable for conventional vessels
to the site. The alternative is to stock pile the modules for
the Hoverbarge to act as an amphibious transporter.
Hovertrans Solutions has designs for Hoverbarges with a
2,500 tonne payload.

What is a Hoverbarge?
A Hoverbarge is a standard marine barge with an air
cushion system which enables it to hover. This
means, when off hover, the Hoverbarge will float like a
standard marine barge. The Hoverbarge is
constructed from steel and uses industrial diesel
engines, ensuring it is simple and easy to maintain in
the field. The Hoverbarge can be designed to meet
local sea state conditions.
The Hoverbarge has been developed over nearly
40 years and is proven technology.
Hovertrans Solutions has managers that have been in
the Hoverbarge industry since the beginning,
providing a wealth of knowledge and experience
unavailable elsewhere.
The Hoverbarge only exerts 1psi ground pressure
when on hover, compared to an average human
footprint of 8 psi. Level ground conditions such as
swamps, shallow water, soft mud, ground fast ice,
tundra, permafrost, sandbars, wet sand, deep water
and land are perfect for the Hoverbarge.
