WHAT ARE VACCINATIONS?

Vaccinations:• Help prevent us catching an infection

• Prepare our immune system so our bodies recognise the infection and fight it next time we come into contact with it

• Can be made of a weak or altered version of an infection. So our immune system will still recognise it in the future, but the vaccine can’t cause the disease itself

Susie says she doesn’t know anything about the vaccination, she’s having it because her mum

said she had to

she is scared it will hurt
