Hover over audio/video icons to display balloons with useful information

Click gear icon at top left to open MyRoom Settings

Confirm whether device is currently on or off

See which specific device MyRoom is using

Microphone and Speaker:

Check and change volume using sliders

Camera:

Open MyRoom Settings

Open MyRoom Settings by clicking gear icon:

Upper right corner of room Top left of balloon that appears when hovering over audio/video toolbar icons

Select devices

Use dropdown lists to select devices for MyRoom to use Dropdowns will include:

Built in devices

Plugged in devices, such as o USB or firewire headsets o USB or firewire microphones o USB or firewire webcams o Microphones included in USB webcams

Use second camera

Check Use second camera for simultaneous access to two different cameras

Two webcam icons will appear on your toolbar

Click to turn each camera on and off independently

Adjust volume

Volume settings are automatically saved. MyRoom will attempt to return to the last configuration the next time you join a room or chat room.

MyRoom Settings

Use Microphone slider to raise or lower the sound of your own voice

Use Speaker slider to raise or lower the sound of others’ voices

AV balloons

Use sliders in Microphone and Speaker balloons

Test audio / video

While you are testing, no one can hear you or see your video stream and you cannot hear others

Test audio/video

Click Start test button in MyRoom Settings

Start speaking to see audio graphs

Adjust microphone volume

Adjust speaker volume

Adjust camera position

Click Stop test when you are done

Check devices

Video quality is determined by number of webcams running in the room and individual’s connection quality

Check devices

If AV device is not responding, make sure:

The right device is selected in dropdown list

Device is properly connected

Volume sliders are not all the way to the left

Try:

Starting and stopping test

Unplugging and replugging device

Exiting and re-entering room

Additional settings

Noise suppression

Noise suppression removes background noise from your environment

Change setting from High to Low if attendees tell you your audio is cutting out or your words are clipped

Audio library

If any of these apply:

You are using Mac and Bluetooth

Your headset is not recognized in device dropdown lists

You have other unresolved audio issues Then switch from recommended to another audio library

Check computer

After adjusting and testing MyRoom Settings, if you still have issues:

Check system volume to make sure it is not too low

Install device drivers for your external device

Reboot your computer

Enable AV for participants

Customize participant experience for each event by enabling and disabling various features

All participants

Join room as Presenter or Host

Click Tools to manage people and room features button

Select Configure room for participants

Check a feature to make it available to all participants

Uncheck a feature to make it unavailable to all participants

Click Apply button

Close Control participant features window
