We are working to increase both the percentage of sustainable fiber (per the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®)) and the percentage of post-consumer recycled content in HP-branded papers.

Look for the certification logo on the product packaging HP has a preference for offering FSC-certified papers. Where FSC fiber is not currently available, HP aims to offer papers certified to the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC™) standard. Help protect the world’s forests for the future. Look for the paper with Forest Stewardship Council and other responsible forestry logos.

Photobase Paper Layer

The layer that offer stiffness, thickness and strength is the Photobase paper layer. It also provide a bright background for high contrast. The fiber in HP photo paper is source from either FSC or PEFC certified well managed forest.

Last at the very top is the final top coat. This layer enhances the glossy finish.

Ink Receiving Layer

Next for smooth surface and protection from water and humidity another resin coating layer is placed on the top of photo base. This layer is also responsible for the Paper’s gloss or matt finish.

Then comes the ink receiving layer. It absorbes the ink and control the drying time and colour performance.

Next is resin coating that protects paper from elements (Eg. Water and humidity) and helps prevent paper from curling.
