Modern Benchmarks for Modern BusinessesToday’s PC processors are increasingly complex and the work that we do with them is shifting from common everyday tasks such as sending email, web browsing and creating documents to much more complex workloads that can challenge the CPU and may be much better suited for processing by the GPU.
Graphics processing and compute tasks such as streaming business media, conducting online meetings, crunching and visualizing data, and interacting with embedded media on websites and in presentations are representative of today’s modern workloads. While no single benchmark measures all aspects of modern processors, some are better than others.
AMD Recommends PCMark 8 – the global standard for benchmarking system performance PCMark 8 goes beyond the CPU to measure total performance of modern processors including CPUs, GPUs and APUs. It was developed in partnership with over 25 industry leaders including Acer, AMD, Condusiv Technologies, Dell, HGST, HP, Intel, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Samsung, SanDisk, Seagate, and Western Digital.
