Step 22Align the square opening on thedrum drive hub with the hole in thedrum axle. Install the drum springpin. Use the alignment pin to ensurethe feed through hole of the tool iscorrectly aligned with the drum drivehub hole. Turn the tool handle clock-wise with consistent effort untilapproximately 1/8” of pin isexposed through both sides of thedrum drive hub. (See Photo 23)

Step 23Apply conductive grease to the drum axle con-tact. (See Photo 24) Rotate the drum 5 to 10revolutions to ensure drum is not binding onthe wiper blade. Clean the padding powder offthe PCR using a dry soft lint-free cloth whilerotating drum.

Step 24Reconnect the spring attached to the drumshutter. Set the waste hopper aside and coverunit to protect OPC drum from light.

HP3500/3700 Technical Instructions 8

In January of 2004, HP released two color laser printers intothe North American market. The HP Color LaserJet 3500 and3700 are based on a new Canon engine similar to that of the HP4600. The single pass engine design enables the new printersto deliver 12ppm and 16ppm while printing either monochromeor color.

While both machines use the same black cartridge, the colorcartridges are different. The black cartridge, Q2670A, yields6,000 pages at 5 % coverage. The color cartridges for theHP3500, Q2671A (cyan), Q2672A (yellow), Q2673A (magenta),yield 4,000 pages at 5 % coverage. The HP3700 color car-tridges, Q2681A (cyan), Q2682A (yellow), Q2683A (magenta),yield 6,000 pages at 5 % coverage. All the internal componentsare the same for all the cartridges the only difference is the chipand the cartridge fill weights.
