SP Guru Download and Installation Instructions

An active account with Opnet is required to download SP Guru installation files and for Opnet technical support.

- To establish an account, go to http://www.opnet.com/support- Click on Product Updates. This will open up a page to enter your user name and

password to log in. Click on Login Assistance on the right.- In the new page that opens, click on password request form under item 1.- Fill in the required information on the password request form and submit it:

o For Organization, enter Lucent.o For Opnet Group ID, enter 15736.o For Product/Platform, enter SP Guru.o The remaining fields relate to your contact and email information.

- Your user name and password should be emailed to you shortly after you submit the form.

- Once you have your user name and password, repeat the first two steps and enter your information for product updates. Note that your password cannot be copied and pasted from your email into the form; you have to type it.

- From the list of products, select SP Guru 11.5.- Choose Windows as the platform.- Download the first three installer files onto your computer:

o Software 11.5 PL1 Build 3352: spguru_115A_PL1_3352_win32.exeo Model Library 21-September-2005: models_11.5.A_21-Sep-2005_win32.exeo Documentation 21-September-2005: spguru_docs_21-Sep-2005_win32.exe

- Execute the installer files in the order shown above. The following options should be chosen during installation:

o Choose to obtain the license from the license server.o The license server is usil100014svr23.ih.lucent.com; the port is port_a.o Do not select a report server.

- When you first run SP Guru, it will create the op_admin and op_models directories:

o op_admin contains the log files and administrative information.o op_models contains the project and model files and is the initial default

directory (this can be changed later from within the tool).o These are typically found in C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>

>Product Documentation or by pressing F1 anywhere within the tool.o The SP Guru User Guide (accessible from the online Product

Documentation main page) is a good beginner’s guide.o Other documentation is available at http://www.opnet.com/support.
