Guide to setting up a blogger account and embeding a YouTube video

1. Go to www.gmail.com and ‘create an account’Tip: use part of your name in the email address so that it is easier to remember e.g John.Smith@gmail.com

2. Once you have completed the set up, go to www.blogger.com Your email address should already be in the ‘Email’ box. Enter your password from your new email account and follow the instructions.

3. Go to YouTube and find a video that you want to display in your blog.Scroll down the page to the ‘Share’ button under the video.

4. Open the ‘Share’ tab and click on ‘Embed’. This will open up a box with a highlighted code.

5. Right click and copy this code.

6. Now go to your blog and go to ‘New Post’. You will see a large white box for you to add your post. In the top right hand corner there are 2 tabs: ‘Edit HTML’ and ‘Compose’.

Edit HTML – is for computer codes (like the YouTube code you have copied). Open this tab and paste the code in.

7. Now click on ‘compose’. You should be able to see a preview of your video. Here you can also add text and images.

8. When you have finished your post, hit ‘Publish Post’ to publish it to your blog.You can make alterations to your post by hitting the image of the pencil.
