Signing in:

When faculty or students are invited to view a course folder in

Panopto, they may receive an email with a long weblink. Click the long link

in the body of the email. Below is an example of how the email will appear:

After clicking the link, viewers are brought to: video.lynn.edu, the main

site. * Note: Viewers can access the main site at any time, and do not

need to go through an email invite to obtain access.

On the right side of the page, viewers sign in via three options from

the pull-down menu:

Panopto (do not use)

stunet.local (for students)

lynn.local (for faculty)

Sign in using your Lynn username and password.

For this example, we will sign in using: stunet.local.

* Views are the same for faculty.

Locating your course folder:

The page defaults to the All Folders view (on the left panel). You will see

all of your courses listed under All Folders. All Sessions recorded thus far

will be visible in the middle of the screen with the Course ID, date, day of

the week, and video thumbnail.

For this example, we will click the first folder on the left, ACC 205 A.

Notice there are no sessions recorded, yet.

Let us now click the next folder, ACC 205 C.

Viewing recorded sessions:

There are two corresponding sessions in the center of the screen. To view

a Session, click directly on its hyperlinked title or thumbnail.

You will see the room camera view on the left side of the monitor and the

computer screen on the right.

Press the Play/Pause button in the timeline to review.

Searching videos:

You can also perform a search across the video library. To do so, select All

Sessions on the upper left of the screen, just under the Lynn logo.

Then, enter your search terms into the search field, located at the top of

the screen, just to the right of the Lynn logo. For this example, we will

enter ACC 205 C into the Search Field.

After entering your search terms into the field, hit the Enter key on your

keyboard. The results for ACC 205 C (thus far) display in the center of the

screen.

We can also Search by date. Here, I entered 4/6 into the search field.

Once I press the Enter key, all recorded sessions from 4/6 (that I have

permission to view) are listed in the center of the screen.

Taking notes:

Students can take notes from a recorded lecture. For this first example, we

will add notes to a lecture with a Presentation. Notice the professor

speaking on the left window, and the presentation showing on the right

window? Hit the Play button to play the session.

When you are ready to make a note, pause playback by pressing the Play

button again, then click the field (under the left window), making sure that

the Notes button is highlighted in navy blue.

Enter your note into the field.

When finished with your note, press the Enter key on your keyboard. You

will see a time stamp that directly correlates with the time-code of the

session.

If your session only has one window, the notes button will be located on

the far left of your screen.

Press directly on the word Notes, and the field will expand to allow you to

input your notes.

Once again, enter your note and press Enter.

Your note will save and annotate the time stamp that directly correlates to

the time-code within the session. This works well as a review and refresher!
